Re: Made in the USA?

As for the earlier discussion, I'm just a hither and thither man.

Re: Made in the USA?

And today it was Sultan Shaving Bay Rum cream. At 10 USD this is a superb cream. I love everything about it. The scent, the ease of lathering and it's texture combine to make it as good as creams costing much, much more. My two purchases from the USA sre truly top end products at very good prices. M...

Re: Made in the USA?

Mike's Natural Soaps - Hungarian Lavender, was my Father's Day soap here in the UK. At 11.50 USD this is a great value soap. Just a few seconds to pick up from the tin and then building in a bowl I was rewarded with more than enough thick creamy lather for my three pass shave. It has a delightful st...

Re: Made in the USA?

Daughter and grandaughter arrived from Dallas yesterday. Accompanied by Sultan Shaving Bay Rum cream and Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender. That's my weekend rotation sorted. And a quick spin on the back of my Moto Guzzi in the evening went down well with my grandaughter. The only woman in my ...

Orders placed with Sultan Shaving and Mike's Natural Soaps.

Had problems with a couple of others so will leave it there for now. Thanks again.

I have a feeling that this could begin a whole new Fido collection. I'll be over in Dallas next year as well so there will be another opportunity to avoid shipping costs to the UK. Meanwhile I must make a start.

I think I will select three including the Nancy Boy Signature shave cream. Not so sure about the other two. As a great fan of the very cheap Palmolive and Arko soap sticks - what's the USA made equivalent? I have bought and used many top end products and their performance has rarely justified the ex...

That's way beyond the call of duty. My grateful thanks.

Cold, but the sun is shining on the New Forest as we await the arrival for Easter of another daughter and family closer to home.

Made in the USA?

My Dallas based daughter is visiting the New Forest soon. I'd welcome suggestions about the shaving soaps and creams made in the USA which anyone would recommend she brings with her for me to try.

Another interesting thing about Fido's photo is the brush he identifies as being a 'T8' has the BK style handle. The 'T' series brushes always had a handle that was very similiar to the classic Plisson style. I was unaware that 'T' series brushes of any type were still being offered, but apparently...

Do the BK4s come in different hair grades, or are the ones that say "Pure Badger" actually Silvertip? Just popped in and noticed this thread. All Kent badger brushes bear the "Pure Badger" mark regardless of grade. Left to right, BK8 silvertip. H8 Best Badger, BK4, silvertip, BK...

If you have a sensitive skin, just lather in a bowl and gently paint it on. Use a brush like that and just about any type of hair and shape of brush head will do.

Cheers. I'm particularly pleased I decided to use the ivory brush. I use it regularly now and it is a sheer delight. It seems to create lather more effectively than just about every other brush I've tried. Must figure out why!

An update. On my 70th birthday recently, I finally decided to use the Kent V16 brush. I knew someday that someone wouldn't be able to resist it so thought it may as well be me. So how did it perform? It's an amazing brush. Far too big and heavy for regular use. The density of the knot ensured that i...

I'm still working my way through pots of Coates Sandalwood and Almond. I'll miss them when they are gone - or perhaps they will outlast me. And I share the enthusiasm here for DR Harris Rose cream. It's tending to become more dehydrated than other creams but still good to use.

New Forest Brushes

Been a bit preoccupied here in the UK these past few months. The Diamond Jublilee celebrations, the British Sky team in Le Tour and London 2012 have kept a lot of us very busy. New Forest Brushes is still ticking along. Prices include worldwide shipping:

I wouldn't wish to compare London 2012 to other Olympics. What was special for me and millions of other Brits was that we had the confidence to do it our way. We threw out the rule book. This was best exemplified by not having an aged hero like Roger Bannister hobbling up steps to light the flame. A...
