I have had the Williams' lather collapse many times, and adjusted the water content and a few times found a sweet spot for an enduring lather. My Salter's cream makes a good lather every time. What I'm saying is the C&E Limes leaves a tenacious layer of slick on the skin which is more of a chore...

Does not lather worth crap. If you like lather avoid this product. It is like Williams mug soap and Cyril L. Salter's cream in that it leaves a slippery film that clings tenaciously to the skin. The only virtue of it being that it is harder to lose too much lubricant during the shave, but still a pa...

Dude, just buy a gallon jug of the stuff and use a smaller water bottle with a nozzle thingamajigger (for more controlled pours). It'll get easy. Aren't you worth it?

I find the "West Indian Lime" soap to be scented lighter than the previous formulations, so perhaps for those who thought the Sandalwood, Nomad and Sienna too strongly scented would go for this.

I get good performance from my Wilkinson blue bowl shaving soap. I don't use it much and have had a bad shave from it because I wasn't used to it, but when I give myself time to adjust I can get good performance. I think it isn't as protective as some other soaps, it's more about glide than cushion.

thank you very much. this is very worrying. I have been using dish soap containing triclosan for 3 years now. I haven't felt anything but I should probably discontinue use. My dish sponge never smells bad when using the triclosan soap.

Kiss My Tallowed Goodness

I was given the lemon scented "The Bomb", the denser formulation. I have found this shaving cream to leave my skin tight, feels dry but doesn't look it, just tight, in a less than comfortable way, for hours after the shave. I have experience with washing off tenacious residues, eliminating...

Not trying to comment on all of humanity here, but, in my experience life is a little easier because the jawline is concealed and the chin's profile is also subtly hidden. I won't claim to be able to hide my adam's apple but for me wearing a beard seems to "ease the burdon of living" by no...

And now that I've looked at their shaving soaps it seems they only mention it being made of glycerin and coconut oil, which implies they reformulated and no longer contain the tallow, which was its only selling point to me. Nice if someone could confirm this (I don't trust sales staff, in-store or o...

They narrowly avoided a PR mistake in removing a vibrating brush from their in-store line-up. It's pretty ridiculous (I dare you to think about it for more than a full minute). Apparently the store's sales associates are in the habit of dissuading customers who purchase straight razors from also pur...

It is probably pure crystalline menthol. IOW, as strong as can be.

I think it can be crushed up and dissolved in water. I wonder if it interferes with lathering...

I've rationalized it as something akin to long soak time for a badger brush in order to prevent the brush from stealing moisture from the evolving/devolving lather. First loading is getting it going, making enough lather to fill the brush and then some. Second loading can be lighter, enough to ensur...

I see, once again, my genius is needed. Moss-man is right about hair-raising chills! Warm water helps with some creams/soaps. Hydration of skin (mild softening) and hair (softening) also causes the columns of keratin to expand, which entails lengthening. When they dehydrate they contract.. and short...

I also can't tell any difference between the Proraso green tub (it's consistency is the same as in the tube, IMO) and the tube. strohman: you should try the Ultra Sensitive! It's got a different, refreshing scent! Kind of like a melon, but not sickly sweet, with green tea and aloe I believe. Lathers...
