The soap kind of fits in the caddy - about as well as it fits in the mug.

I don't know any shavers that would double well as a spoon.

The mug is too narrow at the bottom to fit a cake of soap. It can hold one, but it hovers at the top of the mug....So that doesn't seem like its actual use. There is very little room in the caddy for warm water while the mug is in it. There's no way it would keep the contents warm.

Shave mug...with caddy?

So my wife got me a col conk ceramic shave mug with pewter caddy.... Am I supposed to do something with the caddy or is it just for good looks? At first I thought I put the soap in the ceramic mug and lather in the caddy - but the mug is too narrow at the bottom to hold the soap. Then I figured I la...

Yes, same prep.

Still having a bit of trouble shaving with the straight. I lightly glanced over Chris' 30 degree myth thread and have come to the conclusion that my blade just is not sharp enough.

Is there a difference....

Between shaving in the morning and shaving in the afternoon? I've noticed that I tend to get more nicks in the afternoon than if I shave in the morning, even after several days of afternoon shaving. Is there a natural softness to the beard in the morning? Like maybe the oil from your skin after a ni...

I shave with creams, sticks and soaps. I have no preference. I just like shaving. I like practicing and lathering them all differently. I have different brands that I lather in different ways (for example, MWF I lather in a bowl and Col. Conk I lather on my face). I don't think I could say creams ar...

I've used the Irisch Moos shaving cream for about two weeks now and it has become one of my favorites to shave with, but I do prefer Omega and MWF over it easily. It is a good product - one of the best. Having said that - I used the shaving stick for the first time yesterday in the mid afternoon and...

My wife is very anti-florals or anything that smells "girly".

She likes the "old barber shop" smell, bay rum, etc.

I used Irisch Moos today. Definitely a superior shave cream and seemed to make an ATG pass more possible. Still had difficulty though and am sure at this point my razor is just not sharp enough. I was pleased on wtg and xtg results. Nice shave and definitely feel at this point confident enough to up...

Makes sense. It's a tad more expensive than online but when you factor in shipping costs the price is about the same, plus there's no wait. It was my first time with Col Conk this morning and I was pleased. I found it to be a more hydrating lather than the AoS creams. It lathers really easy and fast...
