Taylor’s shaving shop cologne

Hello gents, first post in a long, long time. I was wondering if the TOBS shaving shop cologne has been discontinued? It’s difficult to find, and some online vendors are saying it’s discontinued of their sites. Is there any truth to this? And if so, can anyone suggest an alternative?

Re: Current state of hard soaps

I can say that the Harris hard soap are still top notch. Ditto for tabac and mwf. I think this thread is a good idea because I've been wondering about trumpers soaps myself. I haven't bought any in quite some time because I got burned on a cake of the coconut oil, and a cake of the sandalwood. Neith...

Re: Looking for cream/soap combination shaving brush

Hey guys, first post in a long time. Chris, a Kent bk4 can often be gotten more inexpensively from a U.K. vendor. The U.S. distributor Jacks up the prices here. You could always ask one of the U.K. Vendors for a discount to save on shipping too. Just shoot them an email before you order.

Re: FS: Simpson polo 8 super *withdrawn*

For me, it was the combination us such a large handle with a comparatively small knot. It just "felt" out of balance to me. I actually wish the loft was taller. I'm sure it's something I could get used to though, it is a very nice brush.

FS: Simpson polo 8 super *withdrawn*

Hello gents. Here we have a Simpson polo 8 in super badger. I bought this brush at the end of November. I used it for a week and decided that It wasn't for me and I stopped using it. The brush has only seen a week's worth of use. It's a great brush, but I just don't care for the handle. The brush ha...

Re: Buying a new brush

I ended up ordering the polo 8 super. I figured that I really like my duke 3, and I like the super hair, and I could give the handle a shot because I don't own anything else quite like it. As for the chubby 2, I actually own one of those too, but like my t3, its a two band. I actually was talking ab...

Buying a new brush

Hey guys, I got some money in my pocket, and I'm buying a new brush today. I'm trying to decide between a simpson tulip 3 and a polo 8 super. Now, I already own a t3 two band, a chubby 1 super, and a duke 3 (among others) for reference. I can't decide what I want. Would the polo knot be more like th...

Re: Chubby vs Polo

Thanks for the insight George. I haven't considered the polo 8 because I'm looking for a large brush to add to my collection, and I already own a very nice example of a duke 3 best, which could pass for a super.

Chubby vs Polo

Hey guys, I was thinking about treating myself to either a chubby 2 super or a polo 10 super. I already own a chubby 2, but it's a two band. I also own a chubby 1 in regular super. Any preferences from you fine gents? Are they basically the same knot? Thanks for the help :)

Storing a razor in a closed medicine cabinet

Hey guys, I have kind of en elementary question, but here goes; Do you guys keep your main razor in the bathroom medicine cabinet? I haven't done it really. I keep all my stuff in my bedroom closet and take what I'm using that day into the bathroom with me to shave, but lately I've decided that I do...

Re: My September 2014 Brushes

Very impressive collection. To this day, I still kick myself for not picking up a Rooney 3/1 finest in faux ivory when they were still on the market instead of that 3 banded heritage stubby 2 I had gotten that I hated and eventually gifted to my father in law. Oh well.

Re: Are You More Likely to Use Creams in a Scuttle?

I always use my moss scuttle as well. I pretty much use it as per the original instructions for the scuttle. With hard soaps, I have the added step of loading my brush first, but otherwise it is used in the same manner. I use whatever soap or cream I'm in the mood for that I have.
