Re: Cobra "Knock-Offs."

Thanks, Murray. For some reason, I thought someone, somewhere had suggested the new version was less aggressive, but considering the blade used maybe that's too much to expect.

Cobra "Knock-Offs."

Really not fair title but any one ready to chime in on the new razors from Bull Goose and elsewhere which use the same single edge blade as the original Cobra razor (e.g., Kai Captain). I always found the Cobra tough to master... close shaves but at a price to my face. So, anything to report ? Other...

If someone else hasn't caught it Connaught ships free to the U.S. for $ 100, which is £ 65.

Re: Snagged a Cake of AOS Tallow Soap

I know it's crazy but despite knowing the tallow AOS was made by Valobra, I feel the AOS gives me a better shave than the Valobra. I don't like the Valobra hard soap scents much.
Go ahead, have me committed .

Re: Is SMF losing its vigour?

I wonder if another factor might be that many of us have been here for some time, now, and we have the wild buying and experimentation behind us. We have found hardware and software that we like and we're more settled. We try something new occasionally, but we're no longer trying to keep up with al...

Re: Vintage Shulton Old Spice Fresh Lime Aftershave

I have never had the vintage version but I like the current one in a red plastic squeeze bottle. Really can sense a hint of Old Spice mixed with the limes. Pete, West Coast Shaving carries this item but is currently out of stock. Can you recommend a reliable, and inexpensive, on-line source? Thanks...

Re: Brylcream, A Little Dab Will Do Ya

well, after a two-year experiment with Mystic Water Hair Oil, I noted as I let my hair (on the sides only-just a few wisps on top) grow longer the oil "hold" was lacking. found some Brylcreem on Amazon, tried it, and am glad to report a little dab is doing me just fine. all the positive at...

Re: Did you enjoy a cigar today?

Basil, no offense taken so no apology needed. besides: my reply was way off topic. maybe we dog lovers-there are plenty here at SMF- need a forum topic on canine companions. with the possible exception of wet shaving, our pets seem to elevate many of our everyday experiences to beyond the ordinary. ...

Re: Did you enjoy a cigar today?

Hey, I think this is a topic worthy of some attention here. I really enjoy a good (but reasonably priced) cigar from time to time. April through early November is my time of year as I too only smoke outside. When my faithful and loving Australian cattle dog mix was still with us, he'd often join me....

Re: iceland breeze

Pete, Gary, Thanks! It seems you have to do some research at Amazon, as prices vary widely. The on-line barber supply places have the 12(?) oz size for around $8. I really must try one or more scent variants at those prices....one of these days. I checked the Master Well Comb website and my guess is...
