It doesn't have anything to do with secreting natural oils or whatever, that happens naturally everyday. Your shave was better because after 3 days your hair was softer/less coarse than if you shaved every day or even every other day. Also since your hair was longer it could stand up easier and redu...

Bit the bullet and decided to purchase the Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Uncented Tub (40 bucks) AND the TINY Pre-Shave Oil 35 bucks...Had my first shave with it and WOW!!!! This stuff is unbelievable. No irritation at all. I'd get a bit of stinging from the Proraso during my final pass but t...

Sensitive Skin, Proraso "Upgrade"

I have pretty darn sensitive skin and a super thick beard...bad combo. I've been pretty happy using Proraso Green Tea/Aloe Shaving "Soap" and the Anti-Irritation Pre-Shave cream but now that I'm addicted to this wet-shaving phenomenon it's got me wondering about better made products. There...

Just checked which mine is...It's the "Aftershave" astringent. Definitely has alcohol in it but no paraben's. I'm trying to replace all my Proraso products because they're loaded with Parabens. I know that the research is subjective but I'd rather go with a product that has less chemicals ...

My understanding is that the fragranced Witch Hazel's don't have alcohol in them, which kind of defeats the purpose of them being an astringent/anti-septic.

The only thing I don't like about Thayers is: 1) The bottle's opening is too wide...You can't pore any onto the palm of your hand. You could use a cotton ball but that's kind of annoying. 2) The bottle is too small. I want a bigger one. :) "Tried" to douse some onto my palm this morning, i...

Yup, the one I got was "Original" which has alcohol in it. I think for a post-shave alcohol is good since it staves off any open cuts. It felt pretty mild to the skin. I wouldn't use a pre-shave or shaving soap/cream with any alcohol in it though.

Thumbs up for Witch Hazel!

Just had my wife shave the back of my neck with a straight then applied the Witch Hazel. No irritation! I'm pretty pleased with this product, if only it didn't smell so industrial. Funny because it's supposed to be made of largely natural products...Must be all the alcohol!

I just purchased a Kent BK4 Silvertip...It's an extremely good brush. Not dense but it's very soft and has a wide-birth.

Any gentleman's worst nightmare!!

Just saw this video and it makes me cringe!!!

Talk about dangerous!! And also...What a horrible shave? Ingrown galore, redness, bleeding, possible slit-throat. Hope it was a free shave...

I hope you enjoy it - it's not a large brush but is very high quality hair. Chris I actually find it quite large, at least for my face I couldn't go any larger!! My "next" brush if I ever get more into this shaving hobby would be a slightly smaller brush that it's a bit stiffer, but this ...

What I'm only scared is that they'd go way to hard on my skin. I've got some in growns/razor bumps on a spot on my neck so I don't want to leave in an ambulance!

Have fun! Then say to yourself, "Why am I not using a straight razor if I shave this way?" Chris Before I get all gung-ho excited, is a straight generally good for men that shave only with the grain? Using a straight against the grain on the neck seems like a death sentence to some! Still...

Well, I've always wanted to get a straight shave but was always scared about where to go. I was at True-fitt and Hill in Toronto last weekend and their main barber/shaver is a woman...Sorry but I'm not having a straight shave performed on me by someone that shaves their legs lol. Hopefully these guy...

So I've had a few shaves with the Kent BK4 and I couldn't be happier. The silvertips are so soft that there is no irritation to my skin. The 15 dollar 'eh cheapo boar is now being used to mop up public hair from under the toilet seat.

Any other WTG only shavers out there? :)

Hey all, just curious if there are any other WTG only shavers out there? For me it's done out of necessity due to pseudo-foliculitis/sensitive skin and a very coarse/thick beard. I've settled with shaving only twice a week so I let the hair follicle grow out and become softer. I do two passes and bo...

Pity that I can only really shave every 3-4 days or so (3 being the earliest as I have very sensitive skin). Also, I'm incredibly hairy so I'll have full-on five o-clock shadow after 7 hours or so. I guess I rock the bum/beard look for a few days to keep my skin from breaking out! :)

ntguys vs. ntguy_s feather blades?

Recently been shopping at ebay for feather blades and noticed two sellers with very similar names selling almost identical feather blade packs. Hoping that 1 or maybe both is legit. Any comments? http://cgi.ebay.ca/100-FEATHER-Razor-Blades-Double-Edge-FREE-SHIPPING-5s-/180442220345?pt=LH_DefaultDoma...
