Average number of Shaves on Artist Club Blades?

Recently got an RR Blackhawk version 2. Loaded a Kai mild P.i.n.k. Blade in it and have 3 shaves under my belt. Was wondering what is the average amount of shaves you get out of the Artist Club style blades? Difference in the durability between the blades?

Is this a good idea: shaky hands and a straight razor

Well not exactly that bad but... I've become interested in going the SR route but here's the rub - I have some sort of neuropathy that makes my left hand numb and weak. It's like my arm is asleep and won't wake up. In one way this would be a great time to try SR shaving as I don't have to get up and...

Order placed

Didn't get too much since I'm not sure when we'll be moving. Got a tube of Arlington cream as something I'll know I'll like. Also got some Cella and some Harris lavender soap in wood bowl.

Finally time for another soap order

After getting a wide variety of soaps and creams when I started this adventure a while back, my stash is finally dwindling. If I went with what I liked from the first go round I'd get some more Trumpers Rose, Tabac, and D.R. Harris Arlington. Before I just got with more of the same, anything suggest...

Anybody had back surgery?

I go to the ortho doc today. My back has been giving me fits for two years now. Surgery was mentioned as an option last time but was a 'sure fix' so it was sort of a last resort. I think I may be at the last resort :( Anybody had back surgery lately to tell me what it was like?

Overloading the Razor?

I have been doing pretty well with my shaving regime - even got where I really like hard soaps. I've noticed that I'm occasionally lazy with rinsing off the razor and getting large amounts of the cream on the razor. What's the down side of this?

Follow on question por favor. Been reading and experimenting with technique along with this thread. The only time that I found that using pressure seemed 'neccessary' was in loading hard soap from the puck. When I tried using just the tips, it just didn't seem to load enough. Is there a trick to thi...

Red Personna user here, haven't tried the Crystal. As stated, YMMV because I found a nice balance in the Red (and the Asta). Derby are too blunt for me and I tend to nick too much with Feathers and Iridiums.

My Scuttle even has a swirl on the bottom. Since I learned a lot watching the Mantic videos, I swirl at first then paint bruch to level and even everything out. I don't use a lot of pressure though but I'll have to play around with this. I already have been playing around with my bowl lathering tech...

Sorry I got a little touchy. Guess I should have asked the question that originally got me thinking along this line. Except for travel purposes, is there any benefit to getting a stick over a tub for hard soap?

Ok I'm sorry I brought it up. With all the talk about stretching blades out I didn't realize this was a verbotten topic. I won't ask any more questions.

Just to clarify, for myself I didn't do this for the economics. However, if it ends up cheaper for a more pleasurable experience then so much the better. There are defintely cheaper options than the Trumper but I didn't choose if for that reason. I also could have done without my scuttle but that wo...

Hmmm, now that you mention it ;) Wonder how well wild honey works as a waterless shave option? Part of my heretical thinking is getting my Disabled Veteran Dad a kit for Father's day. When I visited recently I saw a large pack of off-brand (cheapo) cartrides and a fusion handle with the fusion gel s...

The Economics of Lather

My recent question about how long a tub of hard soap will last was part of a larger question in my mind. The cost diffence for each of the 'forms' of shaving. I've done the approximation for the blades (ie BIG savings for DE blades compared to 3-4 days of a fusion cartridge). Now I'm thinking about ...
