Apparently this process does not work for you. I can except that but please do not continue to address the process as if it just can't be done and that Dave, myself and those who find it process successful in extending the life of their blades are liars. Please just leave it alone and let use do it...

Well I got a few days shaving out of the Merkur blade this past week. Good, really better in my opinion than either the Super Platinum's (IP's) tried, or the Derby's but it would be a tight call. Even so I wouldn't buy them again - they are just too expensive. More expensive than better blades. Just...

I had another look at an older yellow blister-pack of WS blades today.
The only address listed on that pack is a German address, however it doesn't appear to say where the blades are manufactured.

Not sure about baskets but even smallish handle-bar bags tend to be a pain with drop handle bars. I'd recommend a luggage-rack once that's fitted you can even fit on a lightweight plastic basbox with a lid, using velcro and a couple of bungees. You can get proper panniers or a big saddle-bag fitted ...

They're OK, but I've found that they are only at their best for the first couple of days. I don't really like the spiky stubble felling I get 6 hours or so after a shave. They are generally smooth shavers in that they mow easily but I usually find the post-shave sensations to be a little harsh.

Will, what do you do with the blade and inside of the glass. I have heard about this before but I've never really understood the movements involved. By the way, I think hand stropping definitely helps. Mike Take a largish tumbler preferably with parallel sides place the razor blade inside the glass...

Any of the symbolism stand out to you in any way? Stiff tails you mention? Green wool? What are they accompanying you to? sounds interesting, so I ask I'm not sure - I think the stiff tails is a sort of contentment thing. The cats aren't going anywhere the seem to be companions or a comforting pres...

I actually would like to see those photos - I'm cynical but not intransigent. It might have been nicer to say - I still wouldn't be "bothered". It would have to make a heck of a difference in smoothness or pleasure in the shave before I'd consider the game worth the candle. Having tried ha...

If you really want to get nuts try the Muhle R41 2009' version. Unbelievable shaver. Lighter then the 11C but slightly longer handle and they have the head down to a science. And any blade works. I took delivery of the R41 today. I like the longer and thicker handle, but would prefer it didn't feel...

Well having only ever had the Satin or brushed version rather than the shiny one I'll mention the following negatives: 1. I find that soap deposits seem to stick to it. It doesn't clean that easily. 2. Though the finish is hard-wearing it appears to be an anodized finished rather than any form of pl...

Weird Dreams

Sometimes when I dream, it seems I don't know what I'm doing and I'm watching my self doing it. A bit disturbing. Now I'm often accompanied in these dreams by cats rubbing up against my legs with stiff tails and (I think) purring. The cats are definitely alive but for some reason have the appearance...

I've tried it in the past and to be frank noticed no difference whatever. The shave is not smoother, the blade is not sharper. It does not appear to extend blade-life, and seems to be a pointless fiddle. Show me some high magnification before and after photos which show a "realigned" edge ...

Bacon is nature's way of saying "you're not meant to live to that age" and it's also a good argument for not travelling abroad because if there's one thing you can't get that's the same anywhere else its a good old english fry up and a cup of tea. You want the Ulster Fry - bacon and soda-...

Ben & Will, Yeah, but the way I read Jani's post, even the German Wilkinsons are not being made anymore. He didn't seem to be just suggesting different packaging. Do these ones with the yellow card actually say, 'Made in Germany' on them? Regards, Gordon Not sure any more to be honest - I don't...

Body Shop Balms seem plenty good enough for me.

Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion 89p from your local supermarket - good in cold weather or if you have to use a cleaning agent / contact with diesel / petrol or are just weather-beaten - hands or face, a bit heavy for everyday aftershave treatment.

Know if the Nivea Milde Shaving Cream in the UK is the same as Florena you sent me a while ago Jeff - has it been discussed ?
