That sounds risky, I'd probably stay with a safety razor in those conditions.

1) It needs to scrub (lift whiskers) without being prickly. Floppy bloomers dont work well for me. 2) Needs to hold enough water to build up lather from a puck and hold enough lather easily released for 2 passes and touch ups (although I usually only do one) 3) Needs to be aesthetically nice and erg...

Very nice, they work as well or better than many brushes that are 3x the price. The 90% tips are smoother than the 75% tips (620s, etc) with a little less backbone, but they still work great.

+1 for the 620. Ive had several Rooney 3-1 supers that were also great brushes but the Semogue has substantially more backbone and is a truly excellent face lathering brush for hard soaps as long as it isnt over soaked.

Creams? I'd probably go with a 610 for those although it also works for soaps.

A combination of performance, scent and cost for me. While performance is the main thing - glide and stability of the lather to stay on for the full pass, the scent needs to be good as well. There are so many great economic options available that one really doesnt need to dismiss one for the other.

FT: Den Clean Out, Aftershaves, Shulton OS, Soap, etc

Hello All, A few items Ive been building up over the past few months in anticipation of a new year clean out. The preference would be to trade these for Feather Blades or NOS Aqua Velva Ice Blue (glass bottle) Aftershave. First preferences will be given to Feather Blades in 5 or 10 packs. In the pic...

Feathers and Derbys are my 2 favorites, I tend to use Feathers in milder D.Es whereas Derbys are used in the more aggressive ones.

Well, it came in a few days ago and I assembled a blade into it... these things still need work. I was able to get the blade centered by manually moving it around and holding it in position while tightening, somewhat clunky imo.

FT: Alt-Innsbruck A/S for Proraso A/S

Hello All,

I have a nearly full (90%+) bottle of Alt Innsbruck that I'd like to trade for a 3.4oz bottle of Proraso Dopobarba A/S splash, looking for the previous style bottle before they relabeled it:

Thanks!

After shower:

-Run hot water over brush about 10-15 secs
-Spin brush over the soap puck about 10 secs
-Face lather, scrub first then paint
-Single pass with touch ups
-Rinse, dry and A/S splash

Takes about 10-15 minutes max, DE or Str8

Thanks for the replies.
The one I had shaved pretty good and despite the QC issues, it was a nice looking simple razor. I just bought one off the forums so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I like them both, straights get the edge for a nice experience but i'm glad to have a few D.E.s for traveling or evenings when i'm tired and its late.

Current status on the Merkur HD?

A few years ago before I got into Str8s, the merkur HD worked pretty good but their quality control wasnt exceptional ie: one side of the blade was more agressive than the other due to being non centered. Ive heard that Merkur went through a substantial revision of its manufacturing and QC process s...

Simpson CL-1

It has been a few years since a Simpson's brush has been on the shelf and Ive decided to give them another try, got a birthday coming up. My general usage is hard soaps only, face lathering. The one that looks close to ideal for me is the Simpson Cl-1 in best, any one have one of these and can provi...

Derbys have always worked great for me, better than my Iridium Supers which have just been traded out.
Coincedentally, Feathers are my other go-to that have been very nice in the fat handle Tech.
