Very nice, they work as well or better than many brushes that are 3x the price. The 90% tips are smoother than the 75% tips (620s, etc) with a little less backbone, but they still work great.

+1 for the 620. Ive had several Rooney 3-1 supers that were also great brushes but the Semogue has substantially more backbone and is a truly excellent face lathering brush for hard soaps as long as it isnt over soaked.

Creams? I'd probably go with a 610 for those although it also works for soaps.

A combination of performance, scent and cost for me. While performance is the main thing - glide and stability of the lather to stay on for the full pass, the scent needs to be good as well. There are so many great economic options available that one really doesnt need to dismiss one for the other.

Feathers and Derbys are my 2 favorites, I tend to use Feathers in milder D.Es whereas Derbys are used in the more aggressive ones.

Well, it came in a few days ago and I assembled a blade into it... these things still need work. I was able to get the blade centered by manually moving it around and holding it in position while tightening, somewhat clunky imo.

After shower:

-Run hot water over brush about 10-15 secs
-Spin brush over the soap puck about 10 secs
-Face lather, scrub first then paint
-Single pass with touch ups
-Rinse, dry and A/S splash

Takes about 10-15 minutes max, DE or Str8

Gillette fat handled tech (triangular hole version)

The one I had shaved pretty good and despite the QC issues, it was a nice looking simple razor. I just bought one off the forums so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

I like them both, straights get the edge for a nice experience but i'm glad to have a few D.E.s for traveling or evenings when i'm tired and its late.

Derbys have always worked great for me, better than my Iridium Supers which have just been traded out.
Coincedentally, Feathers are my other go-to that have been very nice in the fat handle Tech.
