I've had one shedder. It dropped a few hairs every shave, and when I went to sell it, I wanted to make sure it was OK. Using thumb and forefinger, I reached into the knot and gently squeezed while I pulled out. (This was done quite gingerly and not at all aggressively.) I got a few hairs almost ever...

For those who have not followed this, the new La Famiglia soaps by RazoRock are made by Tcheon Fung Sing and are rebranded, exact formulations of Bergamotto Neroli and their other soaps.
It is pretty amazing to get this for $3.99.

As the OP, I am amused at the direction this thread has gone. Speaking of MWF, does anyone predict that the Euro debt crisis will eventually create history's worst financial market crash? :D :P There is absolutely the possibility, but I am (perhaps foolishly) optimistic that those in a position to ...

After having given the matter some thought I'm coming down firmly on the side of Mercury. Well, let me say this about that. In 1994, I made a conscious decision to buy American instead of Japanese, and I bought a Mercury Sable. The next four cars I bought after that were a Toyota, a Nissan, and two...

Re: "Prep" Pre/Post Shave cream

And another question this time about prep cream Any opinions? any good? I have a jar of this--as well as a jar of Proraso Pre/Post Cream--and they are virtually identical. They both smell very strongly of menthol, reminiscent of Vicks. I use them both interchangeably strictly as preshave, and they ...

I totally agree, Gil. That's an excellent explanat...

I'm somewhat surprised the forum software can't be tweaked to make it so anyone under 25 posts can't start a thread here. That might turn out to be a bit harsh, in practice. Anyone should be able to post with questions, comments, or wanting to buy something. Well, we have tried to upgrade stuff and...

Thanks for the nice review, Tom. I have a couple of QCS creams and they are of excellent quality. My only quibble is that they are kind of "hard"--I snurdle some out with a spoon (either onto a brush or into a bowl/scuttle) and it's hard to get it to dissolve into lather. I wish it were a ...

I purchased the ebony handled brush, shown in the first picture, from Bullgooseshaving.net. Excellent and informative review. While I enjoy soft soaps, I get tired of the plethora of "almond" scents out there. The TFS BN is a very nice change of pace, along with the RR XXX. And this sounds like a maker finally doing something different on the soft soap theme. Have you tried eith...

Scent update

Michelle emailed this to me:
The scents I have curing now are Sandalwood Rose, Peppermint with menthol, Mysore Sandalwood, Lily of the Valley, Coconut and more of the Lime and Marrakesh.  There are others I want to make but I have to render more tallow first
