Re: New shaving soap from Penhaligons

Damon at the Old Town Shaving Company carries Pen's. As of last week, he was expecting a shipment of Sartorial soap, so he may have it by now. He is also delightful to deal with.

Re: Cobra Revisited

A nice review--thanks, Chris. I also recently purchased one of these and my observations mirror yours. The razor shaves beautifully (I've used one Feather Pro for six shaves so far). My biggest quibble with the razor is the slickness of the handle when wet, despite the ribbing on the underside. I'd ...

Jeff, you express yourself brilliantly. I look forward to reading your posts, especially your reviews. Thanks so much, Gary. I have a lot of trouble with my English speech. I think in French or Hebrew, so to speak English is a big effort for me. My accent also is terrible and it refuses to go away....

Kanwa is excellent stuff, all the better because it is unscented and doesn't compete with soaps/creams or EdT. Unfortunately, I believe it has been discontinued.

I have to applaud your efforts. I'm trying not to buy anything new because I have far more product than is defensible. (If my wife finds my stash I am in deep Bandini.) I have to say, though, that all of this is good in theory, but the unknown variable is that great new products come out periodicall...

Interesting, Gary. I've always been a badger guy but picked up a Semogue 2011 LE Bristle size 1 to finally try a boar. I liked it a lot and picked up the size 2 as well. I ended up only keeping the size 2 and have since gravitated back primarily to badgers, but the boar is kind of a special treat, e...

I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Extreme version, but the "original" L'Instant is quite nice. Most comments I've read have favored the Extreme over the original.

If you acquire some, please post back with your comments!

I've only used the cream (tube), but it generates fabulous lather. I agree with Gary about the scent--really nice. I remember it was pretty cheap, so it's definitely worth it IMHO.
Tabac soap is great as well, so if IM is similar, I'd be interesting in trying it.

Re: Edwin Jagger Sea Buckthorn Soap

I have used it on a number of occasions now and have to say that while the soap is an average performer, the scent is absolutely out of this world. Performance wise, I would compare it to a Woods of Windsor cake I received from the good Dr Moss a few months back -- not a horrible soap but not an ou...

That's pretty bizarre. I used to work literally right across the street from that place back in the '90's.
There's a fantastic little taco stand on the corner, but I never saw Colonel Conk there.
