It may have been one of my first shaves with a double-edge razor, where I proceeded to use a bad BiC blade. It was the first BiC I had tried, so I did not know what to expect from them. I discovered later that razor blades generally do not leave my skin hacked and bleeding, including the other BiC's...

Interesting. First time I've read the term "Wilkinette", too. Sort of like "Remchester".

That's tough to read, Sam. Losing a pet is a big deal. Animals will do what they do, though, so take from this experience whatever lesson(s) may help in the future and move on. As you mentioned, it will get easier with time.

My dad enjoyed watching David Suchet portray Poirot. I never enjoyed the show as much as my dad because I could not rid my mind of Suchet's performance as the antagonist in the movie Iron Eagle.

I watched that YouTube video and I borrowed "God is Not Great" from the library. Hopefully Mr. Hitchens' book will provoke thoughts that I've not yet entertained. ...If heaven is full of "Christians" that rejoice in the fact that everyone who doesn't believe in their invisible fr...

Thanks for the reviews, Brians!

My experience with the open-comb and Clog-Pruf models is similar. It took a few shaves to find and maintain the proper angle, and to shave around my Adam's apple, etc., but the OCMM makes quick work of my barbed-wire beard.

Thanks for the info! I'll keep an eye out for an E-type and the Cobra. Perhaps my beard won't scoff at those models like it does milder razors.

Schick Injector Aggressiveness

Hello, gentlemen!

My L1 Schick Injector is too mild for my beard. More recently I found an M1 that shaves quite well when opened up.

Are any other injector models more aggressive than the L-type?

My favorite tea when I need caffeine and can't risk the jitters is Fast Lane by Celestial Seasonings.

Lapsang Souchong is my favorite, though, and I always drink tea straight up.

Thought you might say that Dave. It surprises me how many people confuse the art of fishing with the act of catching. It's in the fishing where the rest and recreation lies. Catching something can sometimes be an unexpected bonus. Well said! Also, the phrase "Let's go shooting!" always ge...

Gillette Adjustable needs adjustment

My Gillette Adjustable is stuck at about a setting of "7". The dial turns, but the blade gap is constant.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Since you gentlemen regard Injectors so highly, perhaps I shouldn't give up just yet. I'll try a different package of blades (and ensure I don't damage the blades when loading them), and perhaps I will also try a different razor model if I find one. The razor is compact and easy to wield, and I like...

Well, the results are the same after two shaves with a new blade in the same razor. When I found this razor, it was in the same kit as two Schick cartridge razors (which are not at "macho" as one might think), one of which is in a box that indicates it was a gift with purchase. Perhaps the...
