Re: The Ghost of P160

I know there are ardent fans out there for each brand of the almond scented Italian shave soaps but I find them almost interchangeable both in scent and use. I wouldn't want to see any of them go away of course and if one is brought back then so much the better. I agree with this - I've tried a few...

Giant aftershave lot

I have a fine selection of aftershaves available for you gents. Since I wear cologne, I generally wear only unscented or lightly scented aftershave nowadays. http://i364.photobucket.com/albums/oo89/steve_in_washington/SAM_08351024x751_zpsc44afc74.jpg 1) Osage Rub, a legendary mentholated aftershave ...

WTB: #77, case for #66

Looking for a few things:

First, a #77 (the English razor.) Cased would be preferred. It doesn't have to be mint.

Second, my #66 needs a case. Since the razor isn't mint, the case doesn't need to be either :)

Re: What will Windsor be like?

Which will it be -- a cream or a soap, or maybe both? I assume if a soap, it will be tallow based. What will the scent be like? Strong or mild? Inquiring minds want to know. On their Facebook page, they've said the initial release will be "eau de toilette, deodorant stick, and shave cream.&quo...

My point above, being that if one is going to do it, and post about it on SMF and others, one is going to get some plain language advice, from a hopefully sophisticated consumer viewpoint. Doing that then simply going against the consensus seems - less than prudent? I would agree. I had heard excel...

I would hesitate to say that all English soaps have a poor reputation - Like I said, the Coates cream was nice enough (somewhat alarming # of 'reactions' to it notwithstanding) - what I was hinting at was the loss of the mystique of the London firms stuff. Yes, Trumpers creams are nice, but so are ...

Gareth, When I started perusing the forums in say, 2007, British creams and soaps were widely regarded as being the best available. Buying the Coates brand before then would have been a shrewd investment. Now, it seems to me consumers are more turned off by the 'traditional' marketing. If you look ...

I've yet to come across old brushes in antique/junk shops over here. I've asked a house clearance contact to look out for shaving items but nothing has turned up so far. There must be large numbers of old brushes out there somewhere. Will look forward to pics of the restored brush. Really? This ant...
