Semogue Owner's Club Two-Band - $72 shipped

Lightly used, maybe 6 months old, no shedding and all-around in excellent condition. I'm a boar guy (this brush was finally bumped off the shelf by the Semogue Caravela).

Asking $72 shipped (the pen is not included).

The order I believe would be after your shave, rinse, alum, rinse*, after-shave(s)**

*Some people don't rinse after alum; I do.
**Some people do a combo of splash/balm; you would do splash first, then balm. Thinnest stuff first.

A couple of polls might be in order to draw out majority opinions, but much like anything else, you'll probably find quite a few that don't fit the curve.

Two bands tend to be bulbs, have spring to the loft and good flow-though for a great combination. I never understood this, actually. I'd much rather have the backbone and spring distributed over a bigger area (like a fan) vs an almost sharp-feeling bulb. I think the bulb shape makes more sense with...

But I will also say that fan shaped ones works better with circular motion, while bulb shaped ones works better with painting strokes. Definitely something to this; pretty much explains the absence of bulb knots in my stable. I like the massage, and doing that with stiff, bulbous knots is very uncom...

Shame the ones around me have all but sold out of the balms. I think I saw some of the blue or red last I looked. The green and black were my favorites - nice scent, excellent performance. The unscented one can still be had from C.O. Bigelow direct.

Eh, some people get irritation if they don't.

Couple of clarifications from my experience: 1. Alum vs Styptic: Though the chemical compounds share similar attributes (you'll see them all called astringents, styptics, and antiseptics) they're pretty different in terms of use; the styptic pencil is just for spot application on cuts and such. It's...

Hey, Mark - you took my message just as I meant it, it seems. I really appreciate your presence around here (and I don't see much of that from other "big name" makers). It sounds like to me that the variance is just a part of the process, and always has been, if I understand you correctly....

Let me clear something up as a few of the B&B natives got their knickers in a twist over our decision to offer replacement stickers on the website ... Mark, I wanted to reply here to this notion. I'm sure that, no matter what you'd done to explain your position on this, there would be an ample ...

Noticed this as well. I think the heat causes a swelling of the skin on your face which obscures some stubble. Cooling your face reveals it.

Maybe.

I don't know.

Here we go again. Sorry, Chris! Thanks for your willingness to indulge me (I am ever learning what I've been missing "out here" beyond a certain... realm). The entire point of the invention of this cream scuttle was to make something that would allow hot lather from cream. Well, I'm afrai...

I don't think I've tried a Simpson brush that performed less than superbly with soaps. As with any very dense brush, loading with more soap will be somewhat necessary. It's a hungry brush, so you have to feed it before it will start giving lather back. Still, the baseline density for Simpson brushes...

I have a KAI Captain (folding). Holds the same razors as the AC's, but has a better look to my eyes (a bit cleaner). The KAI blades are great as well (particularly the "sharpblades"). About like a Feather Pro, but smoother. The blades sit about 0.5mm deeper in the KAI than they do in the ...

Right, so it's a "brush scuttle" more or less? Just holds the brush and the lather you made elsewhere.
