MWF is manufactured in a small, borderline artisan facility in Bradford. As far as I know they only make MWF (and sell it for rebranding, mainly to Kent). The others are all quite similar and I guess come from 1 or 2 places. If they did lose their producer it'd be interesting to see what they do. Y...

Old formulation Pen's.

Silvertip. We will be limiting purchase to one brush per person. Glad you like them, we are very pleased here. Yeah, that brush is looking really nice. What type of hair is that? If I buy it I will have trouble deciding between the two handles. Unfortunately getting both is not an option. Tha...

Rudy, that is a great idea, and I am also interested to hear more about if the scents clash or not. I have heard of people using AOS unscented with the new Pen's EF but that seems a bit expensive. The Palmolive stick and EF seems like a better option.

To my knowledge, this soap has been reformulated. You probably got the old formulation. Yet another great soap that has been ruined by reformulation. :(

Nathan, thanks for taking the time to post this. I concur with your findings. While the new EF is a decent soap, it is a shadow of its former, tallow-based self. Also, I find that the fragrance of the tallow EF is slightly richer than the new stuff. I'm glad I have a decent stash of the old stuff.....

Thanks guys! Teiste, unfortunately I don't have any Trumpers or EJ soaps to compare it with. I only have DR Harris Arlington and Irisch Moos shave stick. But both of those are better than the current formulation of English Fern. I agree with Gordon. Though I think that the current formulation of Eng...

Nathan, thanks for doing the comparison. I think it's great that we know how EF1 compares to EF2. I'm encouraged by your results. To understand what the results mean, I think one would have to be familiar with EF1. but if someone isn't lucky enough to have tried EF1, then one wonders how EF2 compar...

Nathan, Thanks for sharing this. I've not tried the new stuff and luckily I have a nice stash of the tallow version. It is my favorite soap and I do not look forward to the day when it all finally runs out. My biggest problem with the reformulated version is that everyone seems to think it is not a...

Pen's English Fern Comparison (Tallow v. Reformulated)

I was PIF'd a reformulated non-tallow sample of Penhaligon's English Fern by Gary of Gary's sample shop. He saw me post in a thread about my tallow version puck of English Fern; that I was going to be rationing because I loved it so much because it has been reformulated. So, he wanted my thoughts on...

I bought a Simpson Grosvenor 2 band brush from Teiste. I was under a bit of a time crunch since I will be leaving the country on Monday for work (for a long time) so I needed it shipped right away. Teiste did a great job of getting the package in the mail and packaged the brush very well. Great guy ...

I just got a Rooney style 2 in Finest. It is in faux ivory. The handle is great, it is very comfortable to hold. :D

The faux ivory however is horrible, doesn't look like ivory at all and is just plain ugly. I would have much preffered a plain white handle.
