Exactly the same thing happened to me. Tea tree will burn the living daylights out of raw skin. So it was a combination of a dull blade and the Tea Tree. I did exactly the same thing with a Feather blade. If you're using Tea Tree in anything, moisturise afterwards. Hope that helps.
