Re: Band razor

The idea of a band razor scares me a lot simply cause of the need for enough guards/guides to keep it taut and spool the excess. Would be interesting to see but i doubt the world ever sees another band razor. That said, I've never used one or encountered one and not many razors scare me away... an o...

Re: Superspeed sampler

totally bumping my own thread, i think was my best, though its probably out dated and maybe wrong now. Just made a new convert who i think will be browsing super speeds as per, perhaps, my outdated, recommendation.

the common, and cheap! bar handle NEW. shaves a dream if that's what you want... if you want looks and rarity it's not the right bird, superficial aside, it's the equal+ of a 40's superspeed without the regard imo (though it does have plenty of fans)

fact or not I have no idea, but at my local beer store (they carry about 600+ different beers) one of the employees stated a dislike for german beers based on the addition of preservatives that other imports do not use/suffer from. That said I regularly enjoy spaten and even more so paulaner. If you...

I've got a 1909 pocket edition that only has a serial number and no other stamp, actually I also have a 1912 (i think that's the year of the second) pocket edition without a stamp as well. What has you thinking gillette put that diamond logo on all their razors after 1908? knowing gillette's history...

PT, Ah....you've noticed that, have you? Indeed. It's MUCH easier if one stays away from this demented forum. In fact, despite many years of...a....connoisseur shaving, I was definately NOT a 'shavegeek' until these cursed forums came along. Regards, Gordon The funny/obvious part is if you take a b...

while face lathering I build up the initial lather (and what will be held in the brush from there on) to the point where the second and touch up passes require very little "extra building". I have not used a bowl to build lather from creams or soaps in quite a while, but I do not think I w...

yup yup, the gold plated milord actually predates the ranger tech (off hand I've got no clue by how long), but that is indeed what you've found, a milord. Everyone else is correct in that gold plated superspeeds are milords as well, this is another case of name carry over  btw- your razor look...

I'll echo what others have said, I can take a blue tip to 2-3 days stubble and be bbs in 3 passes, no problem. This is one of the main reasons I dislike the term "mild" applied to razors, it lets the user write off so so technique on the razor rather than technique. That said, if the adjus...

When a vendor gives me feedback before I offer feedback, I always say so in my feedback. I tried the LUX. Bought it from a seller on eBay for $8 delivered. I thought the LUX was garbage, excuse my harshness. The story I read about the LUX...they are from the 60's era and warehoused in Poland somewhere for their troops. The Star tech variant is as nice or nicer than the Tech itself. The...

All the tech Variants (tons) have pretty much the same head paired to various handles. The feather 'portable' pauldog sells is a tech like design, as are the Star DE's and the polish Lux razor, the Lux being the cheapest version of the 'knockoffs' and having a bit of a unique feel while shaving. The...
