I started with Derbys and then switched to the Astra Super Platinums and love them. I jumped on them from a guy on Ebay who had 500 blades for $12 American shipped.
I can not say enough good things about them but because they work for me does not mean they will work for you.

Seems about right to me/ I paid 40 for one and 80 for the other/flintlock wrote:hi all, I was looking at a Vintage fatboy for $60 buck the other day. Looks Great. Is this to much to pay?

Re:
The prices for fatboys on the bay are astonishing really. Is it just shaving forum members driving up the prices I wonder? or is something bigger happening? maybe the world is turning back to quality craftsmanship and one sharp edge. I dont think we are driving up the prices. I think more people ar...

Re: Who still has their very first razor?
Still have my 1961 Gillette Fatboy which was a gift and it and it looks almost new despite having been with me throughout my time in the Marine Corps and to Vietnam. used it for a number of years before I went modern with a single edge, then multiple blade, and an electric over the years until retu...

Re: My first Fatboy
It's remarkable that these never seem to wear out or break, more than 50 years since they were being sold for $1.95, and certain to have to endure a lifetime of neglect and exposure to water. Gary I do agree. Now that they are so popular, they are also becoming expensive. I now have a spare for my ...

Razor Holder Idea
I had this idea in the office. Take an old rubber stamp holder and it holds the razor, brush, and has room to add to the collection. And the best part was it was free from the office!

I have decided to have my new Fatboy re-chromed in black by Dave. For the $62, I think it will look very cool. Anyone had theirs re-plated or finished? Thoughts?

Re: Modern TTO razors
I'm thinking about getting a new TTO and need input. The Feather Popular seems a good choice, though I do not have a lot of user info on that one. The same holds true of the offerings from Parker. There appears to be many conflicting opinions about that brand. Is the Parker TTO head a recent design...

Kayak, Welcome and please let us know if we can be of assistance. The Fatboy is my favorite, all time razor and the one I use the most. Just a wonderfully engineered piece of hardware. I have acquired Muhles, Merkers, Parkers, and EJs and disposed of all. My stable consists of a Fatboy, a Slim Adju...
