Re: Regarding water temperature and showers.

Hi Zemlya - It makes sense, though it is hard to give up the hot shower! I turn down the hot water when I wash my hair and face, but it has occurred to me that I should leave it so (and apparently cooler still) for the whole shower. I, too, have heard that hot water dries the skin. I'm amazed, howe...

Re: Pre-Shave Oil

Meh, I don't see a point if your shave soap is good.

I feel it's just one more "product" that the marketeers can hawk to people.

Were pre-shave "oils" even used by barbers in the past?

Re: Embrace the beard

I go through phases. Sometimes I like to let it grow, other times I just trim it and then there are the months where I shave. I don't shave every day (I don't need to), but maybe every 2nd or 3rd day if I want to keep it clean. I love shaving and I also love having a beard (not really thick and long...

Re: Shaving bowls...

I use a bowl with "skirts." I find this helps in not having any soap spill over the side when lathering in the bowl.

Re: Comment on using up products

Absolutely. Why buy something and not use it? I know people who purchase $500 kitchen knives and they become drawer queens--what's the point?

Regarding water temperature and showers.

Hey guys, So I thought I would share with you something that for me has been completely game changing in the health and look of my skin. I used to get dry skin and I've been though dozens (if not hundreds) of different soaps, moisturizers, etc. The number one thing that improved the look and feel (m...

Re: Watches, watches, watches (caution: modem burner)

I have a Stowa Antea (Limited, w/Durowe movement). I will post pics later. I purchased it in 2007 (my first mechanical) and it's since been my only watch.

Eventually I would like to acquire a few more, but nothing in collector territory (no interest).

Would love a Reverso one day!

Re: Rap

I grew up listening to classic rock, rock, metal and yes, rap. Rap was more my teenage years (14-18). I can attest that music is influential and suggestive to younger listeners (though the industry and media will say otherwise: "oh, it's just entertainment" or "it's the parents respon...

Re: Re:

It's actually quite floral as the tobacco scent comes from the tobacco flower versus your favorite cigar. It's manly to a point, a bit old fashioned with a single note that does hang for a good bit. Probably more favored as an aftershave than a pure cologne. I have a bottle and I tend to agree with...

And for a fraction of the price.

Creed fragrances, in my experience, have been underwhelming.
