It just seems the artisan soaps are not as dense as those made by big manufacturers. Oh well. I don't know if you're specifically after an aluminum tin, but Specialty Bottle does have a 8 oz. plastic jars that might work for you that are 3.75" wide and 2.1" tall at just over a buck each. They come in clear, white, amber, etc. with different colored lids. http://www.specialtybottle....

Following up - I made 3 batches of my own shaving soap. Encouraged by this excellent thread, and others, I made my first and second batches in November 2013 and the third in March 2014.
