Re: Single edge razors Colonial aluminum Black
Let's start by saying most of my irritation problems have been solved, however; my chin is still a sensitive issue. Many times I only do two passes on my chin and no irritation problem. I received my Colonial two weeks ago before I went on vacation and started using it last week and have had six sha...

Re: Horse hair brush
Thank you all for your feedback as usual you help me make my decision, for now I will stay with my current brushes. As I stated in my first post I am very happy with my brushes and was just looking for a different experience.

I have two fabulous badger brushes, two great boar brushes and two excellent synthetic brushes and still looking for a different experience. Can anyone recommend a quality horse hair brush.

Re: Kent brush
This morning was the first time I used my BK8 with a soap (Tabac) and Jars was correct, The BK8 loaded with no problem. However as I was loading I missed the backbone of my Shavemac and my Semogue boar brush. For me the BK8 will be a brush to use with creams not soaps.

Re: Thater vs Savile
All thank you, you help with my decision. For now I will stay with my four go to brushes Shavemac, Kent, Semogue and Razorock since spending money on a Thater or Savile will not change my shaving experience.

Thater vs Savile
I own a Shavemac 26 mm 2 band, love the softness and backbone. Also own a Kent BK8 which for me is too floppy. I am now considering a Thater or a Savile, any opinions.

Re: Kent brush: follow up
I finally purchased a Kent BK8 which I purchased on eBay and I am glad I did not pay full price for the brush. I purchased the brush for $75 and the seller claimed he only used it about 10 times and I think he was honest. The brush is in excellent condition and came with the Kent case, Kent brush st...

Re: Single edge razors
Hi Guys, It is Labor Day and I am sitting in my back yard smoking a great cigar, sipping a good bourbon and enjoying the new Suculant garden I planted over the weekend. I had a few more shaves with both razors and I am happy to say I am now getting an irritation free shave with both razors ( I seem t...

Re: Single edge razors
Thanks Brian, I was told the razors were mild which is what I prefer. Regarding my skills I have been wet shaving all my adult life but only started DE shaving about 6 - 8 months ago and everything is just starting to fall into place. I will keep you posted on my success or disappointment.

Re: Single edge razors
I have had two shaves with the push button and two shaves with the G bar using the Gem SS (Brian thank you for sending me the blades greatly apriciated). After four shaves I am not impressed. I receive a closer, smoother less irritating shave with the OneBlade Core. However, I am not giving up on ei...

Re: Single edge razors
Murray,
I am like you I prefer a mild razor and a sharp blade. I get my smoothest closest shaves with my 34c and a Feather blade.
Jar,
I started checking out both the Hawk and the Colonial General, I will let you know what happens.
Thanks
Vince

Single edge razors
Just purchased a Gem Push Buton and a Gem G Bar can anyone suggest a modern single edge razor and blades. I prefer a mild razor but blade does not need to be mild.

OneBlade Core
I have had three shaves with the OneBade Core, these are the results and present situation. First shave was horrible had to do a fourth pass with my 34C. And with my sensitive chin area I never do four passes. Second shave was better but not good enough. Third shave was much better and closer to wha...
