Who's Zockbing on e-bay?????? Doug zockbing outbid me on a nice Gillete TV edition razor when I first started buying razors on eBay. He (she?) has been quite active since. His or her pile of razors must be getting quite large. I didn't really know what were the going rates for razors when I bought ...

How did you re-hydrate them, Rich? Just pour in some water, or mix it in, or what? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

A straight razor in the shower? It seems to me that it would take only one accident, and you would be switching to a Gillette "Milady". I used to shave in the shower, but I much prefer shaving at the sink. My shower is in a clawfoot tub, and there's not much room in there for all my accoutrements. P...

Excellent suggestions, and I thank you! I suppose I might've gotten even more, had I properly spelled "fragrances".

Frangrances For The Ladies

How about some suggestions of perfumes for the ladies? While I'm spending all this money picking up Penhaligon's or DR Harris or such, I thought I'd include a few purchases for the little lady. This is, obviously, dangerous ground, since the likelihood of my picking something she'll like is minimal....

I have only tried a 40s Superspeed and a 60s Gillette adjustable, so I'm no expert. In my experience, however, the Superspeed wins hands down. I really like the balance and heft much more. I get better shaves with the Superspeed, no matter how I adjust the adjustable.

I have nothing to say about the scuttle, but I must give two thumbs up to Scarface's sig GIF. The fact that I like it so much is, of course, conclusive evidence that it is deeply disturbing. I sent a copy of it to my wife, who pronounced it "icky". Well done, Scarface!

I use the Treo 650, like scarface911. I like it because it has the cellphone and a camera built in (I got tired of lugging a lot of separate electronics around).

I also carry a Moleskine because it is faster to jot down notes on paper than it is to type into the Treo's keyboard.

Elan, It sounds to me like you have gotten some of the "extra marked-down" tea tree creams being sold at Knox Cigar. As I recall, they were selling off their remaining stock. The deeply discounted pots of cream had dried out. The proprietor suggested treating it like shave soap, and lathering it usi...

eBay has ackowledged that exessive shipping charges are a real problem. Combatting it has become one of their top priorities (so they say):

Excessive Shipping

I think you were right to complain about the shipping costs, Dan.

My wife bought me the Herban Cowboy brush, shave soap, and shower gel. The shower gel was fine, so long as you like the strong sandalwood aroma. I didn't think much of either the brush or the soap, though. As you say, Mark, the brush sheds bristles like an angry porcupine. I didn't care for the lath...

Dave, I offer no opinion on the DR Harris shave cream, because I haven't used it. I did, however, want to echo Sam's excellent advice on the bar review. Keep taking the old tests. It's the best way to gain confidence and find the areas where you need to brush up. Granted, I took the bar exam over tw...
