Went to the grocery store, among other things got a bag of Gillette Good News fixed head disposables ... holy expensive. Just under 9 bucks, whereas the Bics are about 3 bucks. Am looking forward to trying one tomorrow morning! Usually get mine at Wal-Mart. Pretty cheap. But I've had this pack for ...

Gillette Good News Plus. You can get the kind that pivots or not. I prefer the kind that does not pivot. Personal choice. Keep us in the loop and let us know what worked for you.

We all know that if you have the technique down pat (and most of us "Older Members" do) an acceptable shave can be had from just about any blade. It then boils down to preference. Oh I know some are better than others, but if we "follow through", we can get a decent shave from any blade. Technique, ...

Brushless...Brushless...Brushless... There is a failure to communicate. :D I have had tio use it (Shaving Cream/Gel) on occassion when absolutely necessary. But it really has to be when no other option is available. BUT, I have had a respectable shave when utilized. Not great mind you, but acceptabl...

If you look close at the picture you will see that there are no blade stops. I will not take modern SE blades. It's an 1880 razor. Still very much in the straight razor era. The blades were very likely proprietary and were probably treated like a straight (sharpened etc.) I'm pretty sure I'm correc...

OK, I've found very few blades that will exceed the 3-5 shave category. You will be surprised at the ones I find that give a consistantly acceptable shave: **NOT IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER** Merkur (Did you expect anything different)//Lord Super Stainless//Shark Super Chrome//Personna Platinum (Red Box...

I contacted Classic Shaving and they recommended a vinegar solution of 50/50. I tried that, but something tells me that may too strong for the finish. I guess this could be a YMMV situation, but unless the razor is filthy and full of crud you don't need to mix it so strong. Even though Vinegar is n...

What Marty said is good advice. You can use any brand of mineral oil and soak the razor in it over night. A nice cleaning with Scrubbing Bubbles and warm water and you are good to go. You can use it on any razor with moving parts. I don't think that diluted Vinegar will harm your razor. I use it whe...

What a shame. I don't have a facebook or twitter account. I'll just have to purchase some when I run out of what I have. That may take "several" years.

Taught myself to play when I was a teenager. I play by ear because I do not understand or read music, but I don't play to bad if I do say so myself. Haven't played in a while but I keep a Hohner "C" around just to keep my skills up, plus I just enjoy playing. Sorry just reminiscing. Can't really hel...
