I followed all the advice that you gentlemen gave me and today was a LOT better. I gave it a good shake after drowning it in the basin and used more pressure on the soap and in my lather bowl than I did yesterday. I got a really good lather going and the the shave was quite decent. Again, many thank...

Out of the question  I don't do ebay so I'm heading over to the trading section. Maybe someone has an extra o...

Peter Thiel is an absolute genius. When he sold PP to Ebay it was a horrific moment in time, to me anyway. I have refused to use either pp or ebay since the sale. Ebay unfortunately is so entrenched in the minds of the populace that I feel sorry for anyone like yourself who is trying to find somewhe...

What did I do wrong?.......new brush

Got my new Kent and gave it its first run. I used the Tabac soap. Lots of bubbles, no real lather. I started off by soaking the brush in water, holding it upside down to let off the excess water then I twirled it around the soap bowl until there was a slight lather going and then moved onto latherin...

Christian I'm going to take your advice which I assume stands for all new brushes. I just used a brand new Kent and it wasn't too pleasant. I couldn't get a decent lather going, the thing malted like a Newf in summer, and I was surprised by the size of it, given that I'm used to a small Floris. Hope...

Well, the first shave with the tabac went really well. I really like the scent and the shave was more comfortable than with the usual taylors. Next experiment is T&H cream

Scott

Thanks for your sharing your thoughts. I'm definitely going to keep it to use shaving my head. A new tube of T&H is on the way, but if it feels like prosaro in that I can't feel/hear the blade I'll be a permanent soap man.

Michael's post inspired me to buy the same......Merkur "Hefty Classic - Slant Bar and a stack of feather blades.

I've been ER free since I started about 2 months ago using the Merkur blades. Hopefully the tradition continues. Joe's detailed descriptions should certainly help :)

Is the T&H better, because that's what I'm planning to buy?

Glad I haven't hit the order button yet. Your point about the first time makes really good sense. Tube it is then :?

If the tub is more economical, then tub it shall be.

Many thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
