My results with a cartridge and DE are similar. I really hate the prices of the cartridges. I can buy a year's supply of DE blades for the cost of one refill pack. The multiblade contraptions clog up with hair after one use. I can not even wash the hairs out. It turns my stomach just to look at the ...

I do not mind municipalities adding chlorine because it filters out easily. I hate it when they add fluoride to the water supply. It is a neurotoxin that causes Alzheimers, Osteoporosis, Thyroid Disorders, etc. It is extremely difficult to filter out. The EPA forbids ocean dumping of fluoride; but i...

Try to shave at a different angle.

Merkur blades are awful. Department store blades are hit and miss. Super Iridiums, Red IPs and Feathers all work well in the Merkur Classic.

I have an electric Norelco. It gives a close shave that lasts about 3 hours.
It used to also be real painful because it would pull my hairs while cutting them.

I think that is why we are here and not in one of the electric shave forums.

You might want to try the Injector. It has a long handle and feels very similar to a Mach III except that it has more weight. It gives a comfortable shave and is real easy to use.

I was using a Travel Tech with a Derby blade; once in a while a feather. I was traveling last year and I used a Super Iridium. I thought that the blade and razor did not match very well because I could not feel a thing when I shaved. I tried it again recently and I realized that it was the most comf...

The day of the Yankee parade all of downtown NYC was wall to wall idiots. I am told that most of them come from upstate NY. It was a good thing that my wife had work at home that day because I do not know how she could have walked through the wall of people to get to her office. What is more astound...

Are there any other Sports Haters Out There?

The Yankees just won the World Series, and I can not stand it. Tomorrow they will have a parade for them, and all of the streets will be clogged with cheering idiots, congested cars and tons of paper trash. It is bad enough that we have to sit through enormous traffic jams trying to get in and out th...

I have nothing against school speed zones. I try to obey all speed limits within reason. I just wish that all communities would post the signs conspicuously so drivers can see them. I got pulled over in Bridgewater CT for speeding through a school zone. Neither me nor my wife saw the sign. I explain...

That figures. I have not been pulled over for that one yet. I can not figure out the traffic lights in NYC. At some intersections there is a space between the oncoming lanes. So that if you are making a left turn you end up in a small space between the oncoming lanes. The light to proceed past the i...

The officer did not tell me that the u-turn was unsafe. He told me that the u-turn was illegal because I crossed a double yellow line to make the u-turn. Using his logic, I also would not be able to make a left turn into a parking lot or gas station because I would be crossing a double yellow line. ...

Dave, That does make sense. The prosecutor's tune did change when my wife said that she saw me signal. I did say some prayers before meeting with the prosecutor. I think that the prayers helped. You can buy a Merkur 1904 Classic for $26. A 100 pack of Red IPs from Ebay will be about $10. If you are buying the 4 blade or 5 blade montrosities they are $13 a pack. A boar brush is $5-$10 in a drug store. You can use regular bar soap but you probably will not want to. Theoretically, you will sta...

Thanks for the replies. Those are some great stories. They make me feel better. I guess I was upset because the prosecutor would not let me talk. She kept cutting me off. My Soap Scuttle Dissolved My Soap :(

I picked up an old soap scuttle at a tag sale this weekend. I took it home and cleaned it up. This morning I put a small sample soap in the soap holder. I put some hot water from the kettle in the bottom tray. I put the brush in the bottom tray for a minute to warm it up. I went to work on the soap ...

I keep the old blade wrapper with the blade. Each time I use the blade I put a small tear in the wrapper. This is real easy to do and does not require pen, pencil, spreadsheet, etc.
