WTT: A Simpson Tulip 3 for a Simpson Polo 8 in Best

Good evening gentlemen! I have recently procured a Tulip 3 and as wonderful as this brush is to look at the performance is just not there for me. I would like to trade it for a Polo 8 in preferably in best, but will also consider super bristle. I would also consider other similarly priced Simpson mo...

I simply soak my brush in a sink full of hot water, wet y face and build the lather directly on it. I like the actual sensation of building lather on my face, along with the simplicity and the ensuing results. I would also like to add my vote for the less blades the better crowd. When I switched to ...

I am in the same boat as Wendell here. My beard area has moderate growth, but as I a 23 I do expect it to get a little denser. The rest of my body is fairly hair free.

Amen to that Vic! I do have two 14oz. bottles of Boosters Iced Lime and polar Ice that I have barely put a dent in and have been using for a few moths now. And today I just received a nice sampler of Ogallala Bay Rum aftershaves and soaps which I can't wait to try!

It definitely should Harold! Will this be your first time using a DE? If so just remember the wet shaver mantra .....no pressure....correct angle...no pressure...correct angle etc. I would also look into ordering a sample blade pack from one of the following in no particular ranking: http://westcoas...

Of all of the masses of creams and soaps that I have tried, the MWF and Tabac tie for my overall favorite shaving medium. Very easy to lather, a great and subtle scent, and performance that is very hard to beat, what more could you ask for in a soap? If you haven't tried the MWF go for it, if you fi...

Well alcohol based aftershaves would dry the skin IF you didn't prepare your face properly and use improper tools to shave, namely the multi-blade cartridge razors. For me, the pull and cut technique that is the base of the multi-blades irritated the crap out of my face, and putting alcohol on top o...

Hello Splitting Hairs! Welcome to SMF! The gentlemen above have made some very good suggestions and you would have very good brushes if you take them. Not a problem at all Brent. The site is a great resource as well, it taught me a lot about different families of scents. The only problem is actually finding the fragrances that they offer in a larger size!

Whenever I shave I use an alcohol based aftershave, simply because I enjoy it. I have found out that, depending on the cream or soap, my face is plenty moisturized. The worst thing that happens is that my face feels a little tight for a few hours and nothing more. I find that my face feels and looks...
