Re: My Quest for working car traction mats may finally be over

Does ABS make any difference for these wreckless skidders? There's a new kind of tire called All-Weather, an improvement over the familiar All-Season. They're almost as good in the winter as regular snow tires, and about as good as regular tires the rest of the year. I know of the Goodyear Assurance...

Re: Occam's Razor

$32? Let's see... I'll assume I have the permanent hardware already - razor, brush, mug, and no need to get pre-shave oil or more after-shave or special prescription (or OTC) skin care products. And no B.A.D. or R.A.D., which is a BIG assumption. :) $10-20 for soap? $10-20 for blades? If you go thro...

My Quest for working car traction mats may finally be over

I just bought this ancient device on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/253963844796 Why did I buy that one? you ask. Because I once found the same thing years ago, on clearance, gathering dust in a hardware store. I had never heard of traction mats before, but once I saw them, they seemed like a good i...

Re: Package incoming from Pakistan

I supose the seller didn't realize that Hawaii is part of the USA? Or maybe there's a FedEx surcharge for shipping there. In any case, with the speed of delivery, it's possible that shipping cost more than the value of the package. You daughter ordered the item from a place in Pakistan? I've ordered...

WTB: Phoenix Starling SE Razor

I know a fellow oddball razor merchant who is looking for a Phoenix Starling. They're out of stock, and I don't know if they're planning to make more.

Re: Feather DER-A Adjustable Razor

I didn't realize that Connaught wouldn't be able to ship it to the USA. I haven't looked into how else to get it. I'd check eBay or Amazon first, or other shaving forums.

Feather DER-A Adjustable Razor

I just found this while looking for something else. I think it came out this past fall. It has two settings.

There's also an intriguing picture of a double edge blade pack.

Re: Occam's Razor

I also have a Type O clone that I got around the time I joined this forum. I never actually tried it out, either, though I believe I read from others, years ago, that it wasn't very good. I got the non-adjustable version, hoping that its simplicity would increase the chances of a successful clone, ...

Re: Occam's Razor

The Schick Type N is supposed to be milder than the L, so it's also worth a try.

Re: Occam's Razor

I only tried one once or twice, but with very good results. I bought them a few months ago. The come in a dispenser similar to the Feather blades, with no "finger" for dealing with most injector razors.

Re: Occam's Razor

It's worth trying the Schick Proline injector blades from Japan, too. They come in both sizes.

Murray, have you tried the Schick or Pal adjustable injector razor, the Pal Injectomatic, or any of the older Schick razors, such as the Type E?

Re: Occam's Razor

I just watched the video. Since the screw heads are #1 Philips, they're not too tiny and so maybe not too easy to lose.

It seems somewhat more complicated than a Schick adjustable injector razor, so the main reason for me to consider one would be the quality of the shave.

Schick Plus Platinum Blades - DE and Injector - $1.60 each

I now have quite a few 5-packs of DE blades and 7-packs of injector blades. I also have a few 15-packs of injector blades.

You tell me how many you want, and I'll tell you how much to pay. Add $2 for shipping any quantity.

We can work out a discount if you want a lot of blades.

Re: Various DE Blades - 20¢ each + $1 shipping for any quantity

Bump... I just added Voshkod. A little earlier, I added several hundred Personna Lab blades, and I'm out of Personna Med Prep (hospital) blades. I'm actually starting to run low on Feather blades. I no longer have any boxes of 250, just whatever is left in my last box. Dec. 30 - out of Astra blades.

Re: Phoenix Injector Razor for $18 (copy of Schick Type L)

Well, I went ahead and bought one, and I am not impressed with the quality. I think there's a good chance it's the Chinese clone. The lower part of the head - the part that holds the two blade stops - is too loose, and I have to check to make sure that the blade is seated correctly. I think that wit...
