Re: Ask and ye shall receive - RAZORS. And BLADES

I found the Super Speed in the case, and it's X2. It comes with the instructions, an empty Blue Blades pack, and the original cardboard backing for the blades that tells you to remove it when you use up the blades. Everything is mint except for a fair amount of crazing on the top of the case. The ha...

Re: Ask and ye shall receive - RAZORS. And BLADES

I'm not finding any Z's yet, but there's another one in a blue case (darker than the blue-tip's case) that I've somehow misplaced in the last couple of days. It has a black plastic tip, and it's not an aluminum handle.

Re: Ask and ye shall receive - RAZORS. And BLADES

I think I have a Z, but I'll have to peek at several to see if there's also a 4. Quite a specific request!

Re: The Razor That Haunts Me

I think it's likely it was never sold in the USA. The two recent sellers I've seen are in Bulgaria.

I have no idea what the shave is like. I've never even seen one in person.

Re: Pacific Double Edge Razor from DollarTree for $1

I just tossed mine out. In the process of reattaching the "baby moon" hubcap-like cover on the bottom of the twist knob, I pressed the head against a table top and squished it down somewhat. (I also noticed that I had actually paid only $1.50 at Big Lots, not $2.50, so it was worth it just for the b...

The Razor That Haunts Me

https://www.ebay.com/itm/282973196574 This started years ago. I first found this razor in patent drawings, and since I had never seen it anywhere else, I assumed it had never actually been made. Then a member here posted a picture in the Collectors' Corner. There was also an inexpensive Turkish clon...

Re: Availability of Older Cartridge Razors in the US

I thought the Tracer and Xtreme 3 method of having a flexible cartridge was a more elegant way to fit your face than the springy Sensor blades. So much engineering when a single fixed blade can work fine! Now, if you could cross a Gillette Guard with a Tracer, you'd have a cartridge razor I'd consid...

Re: Seen at a Target in Colorado

CVS now operates the Target pharmacy departments. I don't see Harry's or Bevel on the CVS website, though they are both on Target's website. The idea of the Bevel razor is that a single blade is better for preventing razor bumps. But it uses DE blades. We had a resident expert on the subject, Themba...

Very Old Stock Feather Hi-Stainless DE Blades - Boxes of 250 for $45 - free USA shipping

These stainless Feather double edge blades are very old stock, and got very good reviews here when I was selling them some years ago. There was some question about whether they are platinum coated, but they shaved no worse (or only a tiny bit worse) than Feather blades known to be platinum. I have t...

Re: Availability of Older Cartridge Razors in the US

Yes, the Contour and Atra are the same. I didn't mean to imply otherwise.

It's the name "Vector" that's confusing, because the Vector and Vector 3 are not compatible with each other.

Re: Availability of Older Cartridge Razors in the US

I forgot to mention the Gillette Contour, but that was also discontinued.

If you don't care about having a metal handle or buying something domestic, you can get the Vector, but remember that the Vector is a plastic handle Atra, but the Vector 3 is a plastic handle Sensor.

Availability of Older Cartridge Razors in the US

The last razor I noticed getting discontinued in the USA was the Gillette Sensor. That was 2-3 years ago, and they started disappearing from store shelves. Before that, it was the Atra and Trac II. Gillette will still sell you the cartridges, if you're really sure you don't want more than two blades...

Schick adjustable injector with big dial?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/123156322312

I might have seen something like that in patent drawings:
https://patents.google.com/patent/US3203093

But not in real life. Is it a prototype? A Canadian version?

What about the risk of cutting a plastic blade stop while installing the blade? That's what was mentioned in some negative reviews on Amazon.

Re: Ask and ye shall receive - RAZORS. And BLADES

I have a mint red tip in the original case. The only flaw is a 1" or 2" crack in the middle of the top of the case. Otherwise not far from new. That's the only red tip in a case. I may have one or two more, maybe with some worn red paint? I'm pretty sure I have the kind of adjustable you're looking ...

Rather than list all the razors I have lying around, why don't you post something you're looking for, and I'll check my boxes and post a reply. Then we can write back and forth through the mail system here, and work out a purchase or trade. Examples - Gillette pre-1930, Senator, Aristocrat, Regent T...

In case you're looking for Feather Single Edge Blades

I just discovered that those Feather single edge blades with the cutouts that fit some Valet razors are pretty easy to find on eBay. (I suppose some online vendors now carry them, too.) I'm pretty sure the ones with the blue and yellow triangles on the box (FAS-10 or "Seikan") are carbon steel, and ...

Re: In Praise of the Ordinary Razor

I got the Dorco plastic PL602, and it wasn't quite as substantial as I was hoping for. Super-light, and cheap feeling. I tried it a little, but I'll have to use it more to give it a fair trial. It's not at all like the plastic Wilkinson Classic, which must have metal underneath the plastic in the ha...
