Happy Birthday Jim! I just turned 49 in December. Knees are not too bad but the elbows are giving me fits. I think it mostly comes from my woodworking hobby.

Sad News

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote “The Hokey Pokey,” died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was...

I need a new brush

I have an old Muhle badger brush that is "OK'. My main complaint is that it is short and has a small knobby handle that is stainless and it is hard to grip and is pretty hot after soaking in hot water. I am looking for something in the 20$-30$ range and I am not averse to trying synthetic ot boar. T...

I love the Astra Keramics and the Astra Stainless, the Treets got given away. The Super max went in the trash can.

Merry Christmas all! The presents are wrapped and under the tree, the kids are asleep, and I am sitting on the deck out back with some fine Irish whisky and a very nice cigar. Life is great. I hope yours is as good as mine!

Treet Treat

I bought two 10 packs of the Treet blue. They just don't do it for me. There are 19 left and I will send them (gratis) to the first person that replies to this post that wants them.

Thanks Gruffy. My Schick Krona is acting up and I'm looking to replace it. I like the longer handle of the Krona but the regular Gillettes are a little aggressive. I am really not interested in Merkurs and was hoping that the slim was longer. Suggestions anyone? I guess I could always try to find an...

Gillette adjustable question

Educate me please. I would like to know if the "Slim" adjustable has a longer handle than the standard or is it just slimmer. I'm looking to buy one of these if it is a bit longer than the regular Gillette. I've seen some on ebay but it is a bit difficult to tell from the pictures. Thanks.

I have been very impressed with the Astsa Ceramik--sharp but very smooth. My next blade to try is the Treet Blue.

I really like the original Lagerfeld. It is very different from the majority of stuff out there. If you're lucky you can find some of the original after shave balm.

Ear Hair

When I used to use a cartrdge I would run the razor over my ear to get rid of the fur ( I still got nicks once in a while ) but now that I have switched to DE, I am a little apprehensive. I have one of the rotary things for the inside business and it works OK for that, but the outside is another sto...

I am lucky that my children were facing me at the table and had their backs to the whole incident and because of all the noise in the food court, they didn't hear anything either. I'm gratefull for that. I don't know how I would have addressed it to them. I really don't want to offend anyone here, b...

My heart is Heavy

I was in the local mall today and just sat down at the food court with my two four year olds (they will be five on the 12th) and my wife excused herself to go to the rest room. A man came in with his wife and three children and sat down several tables away from me. His kids were about four, six, and...

I did get in to see my G.P. and he said that my case was really to far advanced for any steroids to be of much use. He recommended Rhuli gel (now made by Band-Aid) applied right after a hot shower. It's healing up now but still looks pretty nasty and my arms and legs are still pretty swollen. He als...
