Poison Ivy

I was clearing out some brush behind the playground at the church about 10 days ago. Three days later these blisters started showing up all over my arms & legs and it seems to be getting worse and spreading more day by day. At first it didn't itch but now it is almost unbearable. I wanted to see a d...

Trick or Treat

I shut down the trick or treating at 8:30 when I ran out of candy. I passed out over 300 pieces (good stuff- one per kid). It is the largest crowd I have ever seen and I hve lived in this house for 12 years. I took my twins down the block nd back while my mother in law was passing out the goodies an...

Don't Look!

The "I Think" thread made me post this. I, like most shavers, stand in front of a mirror when I shave. It's good to keep track of where you've been. I have found that the only time it benefits me to not look in the mirror is when I make the ATG (shaving upward) on my upper lip. To me, I do better do...

Good News!

If you make a Bloody Mary with a full 12oz bottle of V8, there are three vegetable servings in that. Four if you garnish with a large piece of celery!

Just thought I'd share.

The first thing I did was ask the lady at B&BW for a sample. She said that they didn't have any samples of this but if I didn't like it, I could bring back the unused portion for a full refund. That's not too bad! After I got it home, I looked at the plastic pump bottle that it came in--it looked to...

I picked some up today and will let you know how it works. I got the regular--Green Essence or something like that. It smells good.

Thanks for the input guys. I PMed Jeremy to take him up on the offer of the Palmolive. Very generous!

I also picked up some Bath & Bodyworks gel today and I'm going to give that a try also.

Tennis Elbow

My tendonitis is flaring up again and it make whipping up a good lather a real pain. I want to try some creams to give the elbow a rest. I have tried the Neutragena (sp?) and find it just OK. The shave is adequate but the cream doesn't help me keep track of where I've been like a good lather does. I...

I'm new to this also but I can tell you that you have a very good selection--sounds a little like the one I got. I tried all (except for the Feather) of them for several shaves each and thought that the Sweedish Gillette was the best one for me. I was convinced. I tried the Feather last night and I ...

I voted other. I think that the Schick Krona is a great starter razor. Long handle and not too aggressive, and a great shave.

I have also just started using the Proraso tube and the pre/post cream. My tube squirts out a grainy goop that I was not able to melt down and lather until I got it into a very hot mug with just a little water. Is it supposed to be like this? it is not creamy at all. The shave is OK but not what I w...

I look back at many images from Roman times and see many shaved faces. I believe that Roman soldiers kept short hair (and perhaps shaved faces) to keep the enemy from having something to grab on to.

How many shaves do you give a blade?

Not how many shaves do you get out of a blade, but how many shaves do you give a blade (say out of a sampler pack) before you move on to a different and hopefully better blade? Do you try the same brand of blade in different razors?

I also have one that my MIL gave me. It is a great razor! I find that the Sweedish Gillette blades are best for me in this (or any) razor, but I will give the Feather and Merkur a shot.

Long handle/Short handle

I've been DE shaving for a couple of weeks now. The two razors I have been using are a Schick Krona and a '60s model Gillette that nedquimby graciously sent me. Since I had been using a Sensor I think I was more used to a long handle and took to the feel of that one more easily. The Krona feels a li...

Crabtree & Evelyn

I'm a newbie here but I have been using the C & E sandalwood shave soap for a few years now and like it very much. I have gotten my first DE razor but the blades have not come in yet--I've been using a Gillette Sensor. I was wondering if any of you have used the C & E soap and if you have can you gi...
