I am not an expert in this field, Steve, but I think Arlington is more of a citrus scent. I am not really a big fan of citrus scents, I prefer warmer, aromatic scents.

Thanks, Gordon. I emailed Penhaligon about the English Fern. I hope they'll send me a sample, since I don't have the opportunity to try it out prior to purchasing it via internet.

Bumping this thread, because I was going to buy lavender water for the spring and summer. I am in town on Tuesday, so I can take a sniff of Harris' Lavender Water. If that's not to my liking I will probably order some Puig Agua Lavanda. The original comes in the 200 ml green glass bottle, correct? W...

For ladies, he...? Well, I will only order a sample of Harris HIS then. Thanks, Gordon.

PS: Does the Milk of Cucumber and Roses linger very long or what do you mean by heavy weight moisturizer?

Harris HIS and Milk of Cucumber & Roses

Could someone please post his experience with both or one of the two products, because I am very interested in trying them out? Harris HIS could be one of those scents that I like very much, since it has some vanilla and cinnamon in it and is therefore probably a warm, mild scent, I guess. Harris Mi...

I got No. 89, Elite, Special No. 127, Cefiro, Santal, Vetiver and J.F., all in 2ml or 0.06 oz samples. Used No. 89 twice and J.F. once, but they are still more than half full. Would like to trade all of the samples for samples of Penhaligon's English Fern, Hammam Bouquet, Douro, Opus 1870, Lavandula...

Got razors, need Swedes!

Hi everybody, I got some nice razors to offer you. The first one is a Gillette Slim Adjustable from 1968 (date code N4) in very good condition. I got it from a fellow member of SMF. http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums/userpics/13543/normal_Bild_014.jpg http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums...

It was most definitely made in Germany, I purchased it from a German vendor, but I don't know the name of the brand. It's not a Merkur and I don't think it's a Hoffritz either, although I have never seen one of those.

Identification of an old Slant needed...

I acquired this razor some time ago. It is probably of German origin, but I don't know for sure. http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums/userpics/13543/normal_Bild_023.jpg http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/albums/userpics/13543/normal_Bild_022.jpg But I solved another mystery. The razor which I b...

Thanks guys! I really like the Slant, but I think I'll have to use another blade, preferably Swedish Gillette blades.

Barberpole & Slant

Does the Barberpole give an even closer shave than the Slant? I am pretty happy with the Slant for now (just have to get my hands on some Swedes, which is pretty difficult in Germany), but as you all know, it could always get a little better.
