Gentlemen, thank you all very much for your responses/recommendations. I just ordered a Chubby 2 Best from Lee. :D I am already scheming about my next Simpson -- leaning towards a T2. Having read some of the discussions about the Supers, I need to check them out for myself. :) Thanks again. Best wis...

Dale, You're serious, aren't you? Well, then......how about a nice Polo #8, or if you want to really kick out the jams, there is the Chubby #2, or Polo #10. Personally, I prefer the Bests to the Supers, but that is a individual choice.....both are excellent, if a bit different. Regards, Gordon That...

Which Simpson?

I need to expand my brush horizons by entering the Simpson world. I would like a brush that is a bit different than what I already have -- a Rooney Style 2 Finest, Heritage Stubby 2, Vulfix 2233, and a boar. My preference is to lather directly on my face with both soaps and creams. Right now I am at...

Ah, Dale, that's a whole other thread ( chuckle ). One unique thing about Simpson is their truly impressive range of styles and sizes. No other maker is really even in the same league, in that regard. If you were to decide to purchase a Simpson brush, the first decision would be; ",,,do I want to g...

Well, I have never been a big fan of the way Rooney does their faux ivory, so, I was okay with the look of the Emillion handle. Not as nice as Simpson does, admittedly, but in appearance, pretty much like, say, Vulix. And as has been said, the business end of the brush ( at least the Emillion ) is ...

Gareth, If they had the appearance of real bone that would be one thing but to me they just look like white plastic. 8) Steve, I was trying to be a little more diplomatic than that, but since you've said it, yes they do just look like white plastic! When I first opened the box of the Stubby 2 a twi...

Right out of the box the Stubby 2 was softer than the Rooney Finest. But now the Finest is softer -- perhaps the Stubby will match it in time. I am very happy with both brushes. The Finest is prettier to look at, tho.

I have had a Rooney Style 2 Finest for a couple months and I always thought the tips were rather prickly. The other day I picked it up to caress my face and all of a sudden it seemed incredibly soft! Perhaps it just got broken in -- I am still new at this so I am not sure what happened. Even my wife...

Congrats on the third anniversary!

BTW -- Are there a half dozen brushes or so that you find yourself reaching for more often than others in your collection? :)

Thanks, Peter. That was a helpful response. The small Alibaba sounds like quite an interesting brush. Your pics of the Tulips got my attention and I have been wavering between a small Alibaba and a T2. :) I have never even seen a Simpson in the flesh and I am chomping at the bit. lol

Rooney Heritage Alibaba Small

Does anyone have experience with this brush? It repeatedly beckons to me and I am very tempted to ask for one for Christmas. I am also in the throes of desire for the following brushes: Simpson T2, Plisson EW 10 (handle undetermined), Rooney Emillion.

Thanks for your responses. I think the EW is the grade for me. The EG is tempting (price-wise) but I fear I would not be happy with it. So I will add a size 10 EW to my Brush Acquisition List. :D

Plisson - European Grey

I would really like to get a Plisson Size 10 EW, but prudence demands that I inquire about the European Grey. :) Can anyone tell me what I could expect from this type of hair? So far I have three brushes to use as reference points: Rooney Style 2 Finest, Rooney Stubby 2, and a Vulfix 2233 Super Badg...
