The BLK4 I owned was too floppy for my tastes as a soap user.

I have also owned the C&E brush as yours and I preferred it much more than the BLK4.

YMMV.

C&E Sienna is my favourite soap scent.

I don't know if Penhaligons has altered the scent with their reformulated soap, but their tallow formula of English Fern is another favourite too.

[quote="brothers"]No offense, of course, but I've learned that it's a big mistake to make a decision based on reading anyone else's opinion. It's not practical to form an opinon based on reading my opinion where a fragrance is designated as good, bad, like, dislike, or smells like some non-shaving p...

C&E Limes Shaving Cream

Has anyone tried the new C & E Limes Shaving Cream?

I am a fan of their Limes cologne. I was about to buy the cream, but thought I would check here for feedback.

Haha... I just noticed that I made a similar post to Wendell's appreciation of Rush. What I do find interesting about Rush is Americans' love for this band. Yet many other highly talented Canadian bands go unnoticed in the States; where Urban/Hip Hop/Dance music seems to be the favoured music. Here ...

I have been getting back to listening to Rush lately. Neal Peart's drumming is incredible.

All I know, is that my brother who lovingly spent many years eating within the Southern US' BBQ belt, believes his new/expensive "Big Green Egg" ceramic BBQ can duplicate the quality of any famous BBQ-pit that he previously visited. For the time and effort he has spent on it; it better be good. http...

My Tulip 3 in Super has encouraged me to become a regular user of MWF.

I am no brush expert, but for me, Simpson's Tulip 3 in Super/three band is a nice balance of beefy handle, larger knot, and the right density of hair.

The Tulip has been a strong performer with MWF/Kent.

YMMV.

As the OP, I am amused at the direction this thread has gone.

Speaking of MWF, does anyone predict that the Euro debt crisis will eventually create history's worst financial market crash?

:D

I can only see a few soaps comparing to your love of MWF.

As you already own Harris soaps, I suggest finding some vintage Yardley or Old Spice. Tabac is a good suggestion too; if the tobacco/powder scent is to your liking.

Thanks. Good to know when I put some MWF into my beautiful wooden Kent bowl. :)

Between the Fat, my Tulip T3, and EF, I have not been this content for a long time.

Kent vs MWF

Although I would argue there are high calibre soaps that perform as well as Kent, I really enjoy the basic clean scent of Kent shaving soap. (I dislike many newer synthetic scents in fragrances and soaps.) My Kent soap bowl has been seeing quite a bit of action these days. I understand that Kent is ...

Tulip 3 & Kool-Aid

With a less than stellar experience on a Duke 3, I wasn't sure about those members that seemingly drink the Simpsons Kool-Aid. I hesitantly decided to trade on a Tulip 3 and now may be joining the cult too. I tried the brush today with positive results. More than anything, I really like the size and...

As a newbie, using a Fatboy with its settings wide open and a Feather blade.

Combine the above with poorly applied Proraso and splashes of Old Spice aftershave.

Result: My neck looked like hamburger for a week after.

WTTS: Automatic watch winder

My wife bought me an automatic watch winder for Christmas. I am not much into my watch collection these days, so I have not even used the winder. Here it is... retails for $250 CAD. http://www.gunthermele.com/jewelry-boxes/madison-burke-woods/claude-83132320.php I am open to discussing potential tra...

Although I have lost track of the current status of Erasmic's shaving stick reformulation (tallow/veggie/back to tallow?), this inexpensive product has always worked wonders for me. I enjoy its old school scent too. I have a collection full of quality shaving soaps. Erasmic's original el-cheapo tall...
