issue: any advice on how to raise the mower up to access the deck so I can swap out the blades, as I dont have any ramps? Shouldn't be that hard to disconnect the mowing deck, slide it out, and flip it over. You should have to do it at the end of season anyway to clean it out. My old Kubota's mowin...

I just bought one of these bad boys. A bit overkill for less than an acre. I bought it to replace a 15 year old Kubota that didn't do so well on my hills, but still probably had another 5-10 years life left on it. I also have a snowblower that mounts on the front. http://www.shavemyface.com/gallery/...

Painting Simpson's "sterilised" labels with clear nail polish so they wouldn't come off. You young whippersnappers will never know the pleasure of wielding that nail polish brush and inhaling those heady fumes. But take care! Too much nail polish will cause the letters to run. Two light coats is bet...

There is something in the shave cream that causes a light cooling effect.

Looks like a Personna Precision adjustable razor, made in England just after WWII, and before Personna was acquired by ASR. Virtually identical to the Gibbs adjustable, except it takes standard DE blades rather than proprietary. The one in the picture looks in better than new condition. Is it yours...

Well when you wipe away the film of nostalgia, some of those vehicles started life as heaps and have finally achieved absolute junker nirvana. Absolutely, leave those junkers in the past. Now you can buy a new vehicle and drive it for 175,000km spending money on nothing other than oil change...

I'd never heard of this one before. I couldn't find a U.S. patent for it, either. Tsk, tsk, Paul. I seem to remember that 'yasuo' member from years back with photo of his when all this Wilkinson 'sticky' phenomena was at its peak (or that could have just been me, I did have three of them at the tim...

Quite an achievement, Richard. Are these size tubs for barber shops, like the massive Proraso tubes? Gareth J.M. Fraser's has probably never been popular outside barbershops until this whole wet-shaving revolution came about. So yeah, I imagine that size was developed for barbers. They sell smaller...

will you be buying a replacement?! Already on to the next tub and new bottle of Booster Polar Ice A/S to celebrate. I've had the old tub for over three years (four?) and it was sitting around 1/3 before I added water to loosen it up and then in a determined effort for the last three months used it ...

I also have been using this razor every day for over a year now. Ahh, fidelity. Or, I just don't have the time anymore to futz around with anything else.

Does that fellow Gordon post anymore?

Re: Best Place to Buy Feather Blades?

I used a Feather blade for the first time this morning and am already sold on them. Certainly superior to the Derbys or Merkurs I have used for years. Where do people get the best deal on the 100-blade boxes? I know you are an experienced wet shaver, but wait on the Feather blades. Use them for a c...

Stephen Fry offers his thoughts . Of course there will be deranged people who will rejoice in their weird conviction of his eternal and infernal roasting. If hell has Christopher in it, then I’d like to reserve my place there now. Hear, hear! Have to agree 100%. If heaven is full of "Christians" th...

I use Book Depository. Books arrive in Canada tax-free and due to an advantageous currency exchange they are nearly always cheaper than Amazon.ca.
