Just asking.

Re: Sirrius XM radio

Hmmm, nah still don't think it's worth it for me, I rarely have the radio on. And my iPod content is based on what I want to hear not what a station wants to play. Even when we are in the car together, we spend all our time talking. Don't get me wrong I like satellite radio, just not enough to pay ...

My Simfix Colonel sheds ~12 bristles a day, how many days until I am left with just the handle?

Re: Jury duty

Squire, Wellll.....I dunno. Here in Tampa anyone involved with the legal profession ( including paralegals and legal secretaries ) definately do not serve. But, I think Richard's twist is kind of interesting....and could have some merit.....?...he's talking about EVERYONE on the jury would be invol...

Re: Jury duty

For sure the system is flawed, there is no sense in having disgruntled jurors. The lost man hours alone from a room full of potential jurors, never mind all the energy wasted in the process boggles the mind. I don't think the legal and government system appreciates the gravity of this at all. My sol...

Re: Jury duty

I got called up a couple years ago and luckily didn't get selected, but still had to waste a day. I understand "citizen duty" and all that, but the whole process is an insult. Reading ahead of time it is advised that you take the bus because parking is very limited at the courthouse. Well, that does...

Re: In Praise of the Kent BK4

I've also gone back to my BK4 for several months now. It is my most reliable brush, it rarely sheds a hair, unlike my two newer Simpsons (Colonel and Duke) which shed multiple bristles per shave. As with any decent shave brush used daily, you just get used to it and it just becomes "a brush".

Re: MIA

... Have you tried the game Hive? It's an excellent 2 player strategy game. Most people seem to enjoy it and the strategy is very deep, yet easy to learn. Best of all it can be played anywhere, even in the rain! Reminds me of Kensington from the early 80s. I really liked it, but couldn't find anyon...

Didn't Ford sell Land Rover and Aston Martin (and Volvo, Jaguar) several years ago now? There shouldn't be much cross over anymore.

... That darn Carcassonne pulled me into the hobby and hasn't let go. Nice to have you check in Richard. We have missed you. My wife isn't near as big a fan as I am on that one. She likes Lost Cities which is fun, but not as fun, to me anyway, as Carcassonne. Of course Catan still is my favourite. ...

I still check in now and then. Hobbies come and go I suppose, but I still wetshave, although I suppose the desire to chat about it has diminished. I do miss the friendly atmosphere of this place though, I spend most of my free time these days playing/researching modern boardgames. That darn Carcasso...

I'm here! I check in from time to time. Not sure how I like this new forum layout, while the technological changes are nice, I don't like having the poster information on the right hand side.

NPR had a regular piece called "Interviews from the Corner Office" or somesuch where the interviewee was the CEO of a company. One was an interview with Alan Mulally perhaps a year or two after he took over Ford. It was fascinating (could be available as a podcast from NPR ... dunno), the one thing...

Daytime running lights have long been the law here in Canada, as well as parts of Europe. Denmark, as an example, reported 7% reduction in accidents because vehicles are more visible to each other. But if you look hard enough, you can find evidence that suggests they don't make any difference at al...
