Re: Why the bias against pastes?

I have several pasted strops that I've used off and on for several years. I wasn't aware of a bias, and just figured it was one of those options that some folks use and others don't, for whatever reason.

Finally finished Diamonds Are Forever and picked up a copy of the July 1964 edition of Playboy magazine.

Ahem, I'm a little behind on my periodicals reading.

Chris
Interesting articles in there, or so I've been told.

Re: And here we are ---

Just an update on brushes. The mesquite burl handle I got from Elite has had a change of the synthetic knot since I last posted about it above. I replaced it with one from APShave they call SynBad. It's nice but I haven't found any reason to stop using the SilkSmoke every day. I did spend a couple o...

Today's Friday shave was unchanged. Only two more days of Mike's Lime soap remain before it'll be time to make a change.

Re: What are you reading?

Just finished Final Option by Clive Cussler and Brad Morrison. Lots of non-stop action. Yes, low brow to some, but who cares! :D I'm really glad we get to choose the books we read. I recall the dreary days when we were forced to pretend to read someone else's selections in order to be given a passin...

Good show. I thought the couple provided an excellent presentation. I've come close to buying one of their pretty stainless injector razors a time or two, but just haven't done it.

I found them at Dollar Tree. Three bars in a pack for a dollar. Bought in bulk online, and they shipped it to the store where I picked them up for no extra charge.

Re: Where to buy straight razor pins?

Chris, my preference is to not have any washers between the razor blade and the scales. I think the surface area would be too limited, which would result in loosening of the blade within the scales in a much shorter period of time. I believe the larger surface that is pressed against the blade on bo...

Re: Friday's shave

Today's Friday shave was courtesy of a brand new Schick Proline blade in the General V2, Mike's Natural Lime soap, and a return to my ever-capable Silk Smoke synthetic brush, following a couple of weeks with the Manchurian Rooney.
