Nascar 2019

One of my favorite drivers - Martin Truex Jr. - has been signed by Joe Gibbs Racing due to the fact that his former primary sponsor has discontinued his participation in Nascar. The first race event of the 2019 racing season takes place on February 17 at Daytona.

Re: Longevity of ARKO Shave Stick

Jarmo, I think it doesn't matter whether one uses the small disks or the whole stick when loading the brush. I agree with you that soaking shaving soap for a certain length of time may shorten the life of the soap. Regarding the loss of tallow, I haven't experienced that, and actually would never kn...

Re: TSA question re shaving gear

Thanks for the good advice. Keeping it simple was my objective. I packed some Noxzema/Kai disposables and brushless shaving cream in the checked bag. No problems. Regarding the midwinter vacation, 18 degrees F at home on the day we left and 18 when we returned 10 days later. 74 to 82 every day outdo...

Re: Vetiver

Today I used the MdC Vetiver soap sample for the first time. It has a very light but pleasant vetiver scent. It's a great shaving soap as are all of the MdC shaving soaps. And expensive.

Re: shaving experts please!/shaving in the shower

I don't shave in the shower. I've found it to be waaaay too complicated and takes a lot longer while standing there with the water cascading down while I'm trying to take my time and enjoying the shave. Before I shave at the sink, I splash hot water on my face and/or hold a soaking wet washcloth on ...

Re: My Beloved Semogue 1305

Murray, I was mistaken. Thanks for checking on this. Here's what the website says about the 2000: White Premium 90% tops mixed with White Super 70% top.

PS: I hope this short discussion regarding a different Semogue brush didn't hijack the 1305 post. :D

Olie, I realize you're in Sweden, and shipping may be problematic. In response to your question, Nancy Boy in San Francisco USA makes the best Styling Cream in my personal opinion (Others may disagree. :D ). I've been through several jars, and am ready to reorder very soon. You may want to browse th...

TSA question re shaving gear

I'll be flying in a few days. Does TSA allow alcohol based aftershave/disposable razors/shaving cream (non-aerosol)/shampoo/body wash/talc/etc.? Checked baggage or carry-on? What do I expect. I haven't flown in several years.

Re: My Beloved Semogue 1305

My favorite boar from Semogue is the 2000. It has the premium bristle, and is 2 or 3 mm longer loft than the others mentioned above. I understand the preferences mentioned above, and am not suggesting the 2000, just giving it honorable mention. When I was in the buying mode for brushes, I should hav...

Re: Superior 70 mentholated

This week marks the opening of my 7th bottle of Superior 70 mentholated aftershave splash. I always add two caps full of menthol crystals dissolved in a small amount of rubbing alcohol and 1/3 of a tube of 444 aftershave balm to a new bottle before I start using it. This is inexpensive and lasts me ...

Re: Mitchell's Wool Fat and Hard Water

Throwing in my 2 cents here -- seeing as I am the resident Wool fat evangelist ...... Hard water or soft, you can get good lather from MWF. However, you have to be patient and cautious about the water-to-soap mixture. Hard water can quickly degrade the quality of lather when you add it. The upside-...
