Can you read the posts, or is a screen shot all we can get? If all we can get is the front page, then it is not accurate to say it hasn't disappeared from the internet. I was under the impression that all of the postings have been deleted. Wouldn't it be great if I'm wrong! 8) Unfortunately, no. Wh...

A Blast From The Past!

I'm working on a post for Sharpologist about the "early days" (!) of the modern old school wet shaving movement. I was thinking back on the old MSN Wetshaver days and I got to wondering if the Internet Archive's "Wayback Machine" had anything on it. Sure enough: http://s11.postimg.org/c4ezq59bz/Wet_...

So I tried that Harry's shaving cream this morning. It worked OK. No real scent to speak of (though there was just a hint of Proraso-ish eucalyptus when I first applied it). Very low lathering and applying with hands took a fair amount of product. Using a brush (in this case a very cheap Ecotools sy...

I'm two shaves in with the Harry (Truman razor handle, plastic). Razor handle weight and balance decent. Interesting pivot design, with a little plastic stop at the end of its travel--this is no doubt a cost-saving measure. The shave with 'traditional' kit was surprisingly decent: mild-feeling but c...

I agree, a single note that's fairly strong and it lingers for a while too.

...I see they both contain methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone, which are ingredients quite new to me. I assume they both serve as generic citrus scents and are variants of the original molecules which are now limited by EEC fiat; these variants not yet being mentioned by name in ...

OK, shaved with the "new" R41 this morning (SOTD R41 w/Iridium blade, NY Shaving Co. "Tonsorial" cream, WSP brush, Trumper's Skin Food). It is still very, very aggressive  There is still tons of blade exposure and I had to be exceedingly careful with pressure and angle. I didn't dare do an AT...

May I weigh in here? Those who know me will say I'm biased towards the Progress (it will have to be pried from my cold, dead fingers) and they're right. But I have put in my time with both the Futur and the Vision as well. The Progress is everything I want in an adjustable razor: relatively small an...

The Israeli Blues are lately being vended in loose plastic tucks of five blades each. My last order of 100 came that way. You're correct, Reds are different blades. Glad I came across this thread: my box of blue IP's is almost gone (after several years  ). A quick check of eBay shows me the tw...

I recently contributed to a “crowdfunding” project on Indiegogo, “Dave’s Shower Shave.” It works kind of like a shave stick: its a puck of shaving soap in a holder (with a little mirror on it), specifically made to be used for shaving in the shower. Its low-lathering (just massage it in a little wit...

I reviewed this on my blog a while back. I like their creams, particularly their "sagebrush" scent--it's unusual but I like it (YMMV of course). Some think they're a tad over-priced but I think they're competitive with the other high-end brands.

Have You Shaved Someone Else?

Hello gents-- I'm starting to work on a video about how to shave someone else. Not like a barber mind you, this would be more like shaving someone who couldn't shave themself due to age or disability. I want to make it a pleasant experience but probably not a BBS shave kind of thing (though perhaps ...
