Re: the FAT/Short Rant Postby John Parker » Mon Feb 10, 2014 9:10 am Tried my MWF again this morning and though I had a good shave, I was disappointed in my lather - again! Re: Synergy Shaving Soap from HowToGrowAMustache

Phil can you describe the Cavendish scent? Squire, although HowToGrowAMoustache does not offer soap samples, they will send out q-tips with the scent. I have one of the Cavendish, among others. It is a light, sweet pipe tobacco scent. Quite nice. To get the samples one needs to mail them a self-add...

Re: Rolling My Own

Tester, this all sounds very interesting! Wish I knew more about it. Before long I may be tempted to actually try making a soap. Particularly if I knew how to scent it.

Not sure about "the next big thing" but the current big thing is to cook fries in duck fat. Suppose to be great, but I have not had the opportunity to! try them yet. Hmm...duck tallow! (Think I am off topic!)

Re: The Golden Age of Shaving Soap

Seems like some soap producing stalwarts and a host of artisans have saved us from a possible apocalypse! Though I thought several years ago the apocalypse was going to occur because of the end of de blades.

I am a MWK convert! After four shaves in a row, I am certainly feeling a moisturized face! And an excellent shave! Think I will stick with this longer before I go back to my previous soap rotation. And think I will quit exploring the newest soap that comes down the line. And think I will sit here p...

Re: the FAT

Used MWF again this morning; second straight day. And I mention that because I do rotate soaps on an almost daily basis, hence appreciating Wendell's comments on treating soaps differently because perhaps I unwittingly do. Much better lather this morning. But I did notice something that rather surpr...

All I know is what I learned by googling bitcoin and reading what came up under Wikipedia, and in other internet news. Probably worth checking there first if you have an interest. Personal opinion is that it all looks very shaky.

Re: What's today's soap or cream?

This morning I used Los Angeles Shaving Soap Woody Lavender (currently testing the line including Topanga Fougere and Bespoke #1). Nice herbal lavender aroma, good cushion and glide, nice face feel.

If you are replying to a PM, there will already be a recipient and title, so you can just write the body of the message and send it it. Chris I was not replying to a PM. I looked up someone in the membership list, selected PM, and the recipient and box with the x in it came up automatically. Tried ...

Chris Chris, I'm back, and still confused! Above the screen you pictured above there is a "to", a name (I preselected someone...

Re: Los Angles Shaving Soap Co.

Shaved with the LASS fougere today. Scent was what I am becoming to know as fougere, but this had the hint of bitterness from something in it. Very easy and quick to produce lather. Good glide and cushion; nice shave. Face feel was excellent. Face felt the least bit tacky after rinsing, but only for...

Re: Los Angles Shaving Soap Co.

Just received three samples of Los Angeles Shaving Soap; Fougere, Woody Lavender and Bespoke #1. Tried the sample of Bespoke this morning and wow! A very little bit of soap scooped into a bowl and lathered proved to be too much product! Really abundant, thick and creamy lather. The scent is vetiver-...
