Re: Small Milord?

BTW, I consider this to be one of my best ebay bargains to date--less than $18 shipped. You'd have paid a little bit more if my computer hadn't seized up when I tried to snipe it :D Furniture exchange of new england, right? I threw in a bid of (I think) about $22, but right as I went to hit the bid...

Re: mediocre, irritating shave: HELP!

But more important is the whole "let the weight of the razor do the work" thing. Again this works fine when the razor is gliding down my cheek. But it doesn't seem to work so well trying to move around my neck, etc. And it doesn't even make any sense at all for subsequent passes, where I'm trying t...

Re: so what do you do when all the cream is deep in your bru

the past couple times i've whipped up the soap well, but unfortunately most of it stayed deep inside the brush. if i wiped it across my face and pressed in trying to work it out it would just go deeper into the brush. now, after my first pass should i squeeze it all out and then brush it on my face...

I got that same effect with a couple of ebay razors. All I did was leave them in a mug full of ketchup for a while and then rinse them off. Much easier than any brasso rubbing, plus they taste delicious now! :) Wouldn't diluted vinegar have done the same thing? I mean, unless you wanted your razor ...

Yep, there's a blade in there.
Check here for a nifty scan of the instructions.
I'm not sure how bakelite does in boiling water, so the one I got from ebay I simply held the head under the water to sterilize it.

I have tried soaps from AOS, Taylor's, Trumpers, T&H, and many more and the only one that comes close to DR is the T&H. I just got some T&H almond over the weekend. Having tried to force myself to like the C&E, and failed due to the smell, I was ecstatic to sniff the T&H almond and be reminded of a...

I've still got my "L" plates on, and I've been using one of the 1940's style Gillette superspeeds the last couple of weeks. I've been very pleased with the results.
I have a fatboy adjustable Gillette, and I'm dying to try it, but I'm trying to keep to baby steps for now.
Oh, and welcome.

Proraso makes it to Tampa at last!
I saw soap, pre shave and shave cream, aftershave and a can of oozing foam. Oh, and an Omega brush.
I now own pre shave cream and shave cream.

Based on nothing but my own anecdotal evidence, I'd say the C&E is the better deal, albeit the pricier one. See I don't have a problem paying $35 for a brush that is noticibly better than a $10 brush. However Paying $100 more for something that I don't know if it will be THAT much better is where I...

Thanks for the replies. There is a C&E not too far from where I live so I will check it out. I just always thought of that place as the girly store! Wife would go there and I would have the urge to cook a steak over a fire and watch football. I guess I was thinking of a Gentlemans sto...

At the same time, I have to concede, I set my price and was outbid. And sniping would have meant the seller got 50 cents less, more than likely. So I can get over it...

We had those in England, and I was an avid collector. Some of the brand name satires didn't come across so well, what with the brands not being in the UK, or familiar to me. Not that anything like that would deter my collecting instincts. Speaking of which, got to get back to ebay... :D
