Was this a toggle? Bottom left of the photo, chrome finish? OMG, it sure looks like a Toggle. I have never seen one in Chrome before. Look at that price. WOW, that is a great deal. I can't believe I didn't see that auction. ](*,) Silly me - I thought that was a toggle, but the rest of the stu...

Has anyone tried soaking in coca cola? Reaching way back into my childhood, we used to clean up pennies by soaking them in Coke. I think it was initially a science teacher demonstrating how coke could be eating our internal organs, but mostly we all just thought "Cool! Let's make all our pennies shi...

I had a barber shop shave (& haircut) this Saturday. The two barbers were bantering back and forth, the usual barber shop fare of sports, sports trivia, trivial sports, and sports. Anyway, the one barber (not mine), mentioned that he'd bought a Fusion, shaved once with it, and it had shaved off his ...

I don't think I'm ready for Feathers yet, skill wise. I put one in my Merkur long classic, and got some really close shaves, but a lot of redness around my neck (once I got good enough to stop drawing blood). The last couple of mornings I shaved with a 40's style superspeed and a Personna, and got a...

I examined every aisle anywhere near shaving stuff in my local Target yesterday, and found no Proraso. So I asked a managerial type wo was talking to people about work schedules on a walkie talkie, and he said the Proraso was coming in this week. I guess things move more slowly in the south. Meanwhi...

Mike, you might be interested to know that the car brand Infiniti (owned by Nissan) ends with an "i" because the audio speaker brand Infinity had the correct spelling all sewed up. Nissan would have preferred to spell their brand with a 'y,' but they couldn't. Apparently no judge thought that would...

I tried a basic bakelite injector with a CVS blade this week - first injector ever. I was impressed. I also liked the fact that I was using a razor that may be the same age as my dad.

Re: New shaving goods at Target!

I think I'm more excited about this than I would admit. Seems like each trip to Target costs at least $100, no matter how llittle you intended to buy. Now it'll be $100 plus some shaving products. Hello all. I just got a little bit of an inside scoop. I work for Target and have been informed that th...

Often my Sunday shave is later in the day, what with one drink and another. I shave Monday morning as usual (I'm doing a three pass shave typically at the moment), and haven't noticed much difference with the two shaves being less than 24 hours apart.

Razor surgery?

So, for xmas I got a caswell massey shaving set thing, including the razor shown here. http://www.caswellmassey.com/images/us//local/products/legacy/Shaving/fxivoryshveset-med.jpg Mine has a magnifying mirror, but otherwise it's the set above. The brush is my daily brush, until such time as my obses...

I have three comments

1. Wow 2. Wow 3. Wow Make that four comments - so far, after becoming mildly obsessed with wet shaving, I have been able to justify it all to myself with thoughts about the entire cost of my purchases so far being no more than maybe $150. I can see, when I start to obsess over brushes, I'll have to ...

Great, so I have more skin care products than my wife, I have the bathroom smelling like lavender and rose in the morning and now I'll be thinking about figure skating while I shave. Very nice commentary. Within the last couple of weeks I've started using feathers as well. I really love them, but after a few days of great shaves, I get a little comfortable and go a little too quick on my chin. Sure enough, this morning took a nice little gash to the chin. These things are surgi...
