FS: Pils Stainless Steel Razor - SOLD

Well, after just a few uses, I've decided I really like the feel of my Feather AS a lot better than this mint stainless steel Pils, so the Pils is available. I'm asking what I paid $204 by personal PayPal, and I'll absorb the shipping cost to CONUS. PM me. http://s1.postimage.org/3119pqow4/Pils_Razo...

I did manage to get this one a couple days ago, a Trumpers which looks like it might be a 55. http://s3.postimage.org/1vqqnfd0/KGr_Hq_QOKps_E25_fzbdd_BN0_qj_VVg_3.jpg http://s3.postimage.org/1wze5sp0/KGr_Hq_EOKic_E3_F0_w_T0d_BN0_rs_Zjog_3.jpg http://s3.postimage.org/1xfxj9ms/KGr_Hq_MOKi8_E2_W_q_ZBFR...

Simpsons 56?

This Gimbels brush sold on eBay for $140. I thought it probably was a rebranded Simpsons 56 (see the number on its handel) and bid on it, but I dropped out at $90. Did someone here get it? Can anyone tell by looking at it whether or not it is a Simpsons? http://s1.postimage.org/25anz2uf8/KGr_Hq_IOKn...

Hmmmm... I don't know. I've owned about a dozen Simpson brushes and none shed 3 - 4 hairs per shave for the first several weeks. To me, that's excessive. The 'normal' for me has been 3 - 4 hairs for the first two or three latherings and then the occasional hair or two as time goes on. +1. I've only...

Rust

Gil, no rust yet, but it's nearly new and I'm careful to towel and air dry each piece before reassembling the razor. I had heard of that complaint, so I'm trying to avoid it.

FS: Gillettes and a PIF

Now that I'm just using a Pils and a Feather All Stainless, I can get rid of a few vintage Gillettes. I'm just going to ask what I paid for them, and I'll absorb the shipping cost, CONUS only. PayPal personal transfer only please. First is an excellent F2 Fat Boy, with just a few scratches, numbers ...

Just as an addendum: I performed a rather stupid experiment, which is how I ended up with a handle to reknot. I had bought a two-band brush whose outer band really was not white at all, instead a sort of muddy beige. Since I hadn't paid much for it, and because I'd read of people's questions about b...

Removing bristles

Brush reknotting experts, please see my post in the SMF university section. I want to remove old bristles to replace them, but don't have power tools. Suggestions? Thanks. Sorry if my dual posting isn't good etiquette.

Removing old bristles

I have a brush handle from which I want to remove the old bristles, so that I can replace them with a new silvertip or super knot. However, I'm not really a handyman and don't have a dremel or even a power drill. I had read that one shaver here had used channel lock pliers to yank out old bristles, ...

Some of us have made a LOT of impulse buys. I collected Super Speeds, in all the various major models, in all the different colored cases, many mint, a few NOS. But it finally struck me one day that I was never going to actually use any of them - I've found that they don't feel that good to me for s...

WTB: Somerset Simpsons

I'd really like to collect some 1941-90 Somerset Simpson brushes, all models. If you have one or two or several that you want to unload, please PM me. Please don't suggest anything on B&B; I don't go there. Thanks.
