Re: Trying to pair up Spotify on my phone with my car audio
The HTC device plugs into the auxiliary and then makes it just like your car radio has bluetooth, the sync part isn't a big deal.

Re: Trying to pair up Spotify on my phone with my car audio
Sam, I went with the HTC Bluetooth Stereo Clip (http://www.htc.com/us/accessories/#!pid=htc-desire-eye&acc=htc-bluetooth-stereoclip), because having to plug the phone into anything is so last century :D My car (Mini Countryman, so I think it shares a subset of the BMW phone features) has Bluetoo...

Re: Cast iron skillett
Not sure if it was mentioned but some folks tell of a health benefit to using iron cookware, in terms of iron being absorbed into the food as it's cooked. You might also want to research Bantu beer before going too far down that road. C. Interesting reading. I hope Clive isn't warming his Becks in ...

Re: Cast iron skillett
I'm late to this, but just have to chime in :D We have three cast iron skillets of varying sizes (all Lodge, I think) that see regular use - last time being Sunday to prepare some pork chops. We also have a pretty extensive selection of copper pots and pans, but the cast iron are the first choice fo...

Re: Blast from the Past
As I looked at the photos it was hard not to create my own back story for the place - very interesting. It must be very remote to remain that undisturbed, unless someone is protecting it like the Paiute do with the Anasazi remains - never know when they'll come back. (Also, one of the captions has a...

Re: Suggestions sought: popcorn and popcorn oil
Some great ideas here Buzz, I'll have to give them a whirl. Thanks. I use Yoder Premium Yellow popping corn ( https://www.yoderpopcorn.com/products/17/Yoder-Premium-Yellow ). I pop it in a very big non-stick caldron on the stove top. If you start with too much corn, the caldron will fill and the ker...

Re: Suggestions sought: popcorn and popcorn oil
We have a popcorn popper modeled after the ones at cinemas, only smaller. Something like this (only not this): http://us-machine.com/images/popcorn-machine/39.jpg People, in general, appear to like my popcorn quite a bit. Corn kernels from wherever, I think they're different every time. I pop it wit...

Hi Eric - welcome to SMF.
My go-to DE is a Progress, too.
I refer to mine as the Bobgress, because it sports an after market adjuster knob thingy courtesy of Cooncatbob, a member of SMF who is, sadly, no longer with us.

Re: Starbucks
Some interesting comments. I think it's the inverse in Australia. Certainly nothing can match a good barista made coffee in Australia, No domestic coffee machine (I'm talking ones worth a couple of thousand dollars) can match a commercial coffee machine. I notice someone said Starbucks coffee is to...

Re: Starbucks
Starbucks is a chain that serves a need, much like McDonalds, so not really renowned for its quality. It can perhaps serve as a gateway to better coffee shops, but is to coffee what McDonalds is to fine steakhouses. I believe Australia already had a pretty strong coffee shop scene, hence no need for...

Re: Shaved head?
Random observation?
Sunglasses never slide off my face because they hold onto the shaved skin on the side of my head. Although, this would be true of a Mohawk as well
Fusion is a great head shaving tool, the Fusion Dyson with the little orange ball in it is a useless gimmick (shocking!).

Re: Guess I am grown up now - got me a coffee maker
I bought a Keurig recently, having used one at my new job. I like the medium roasts rather than the darker, the darker roasts tend to taste a little burned and old to my taste buds. My favourite currently is the Marley coffee medium roast. I've used the "My K-Cup" and the SoloFill for grou...

Another vote for the Patagonia here. I usually wear mine under other jackets in very cold weather, very compact and pretty warm.
A point in Patagonia's favor is the lifetime guarantee on zippers etc., my wife just got a zipper replaced in a fleece she's had for 18 years - no charge.

Re: GILLETTE FUSION $1/WK
I use a Fusion on my head, every day, 7 days a week, missing a shave very occasionally. A Fusion cartridge can last me weeks, if not months. Usually I find myself switching to a new cartridge out of curiosity more than too much deterioration in the head shave. I suspect I've been using my current ca...

Re: Back to Jolly 'Ole
Gary, you've nailed it. Two years ago when I visited Trumpers the sales clerk became visibly irritated with me when I sniffed several aftershaves and asked her questions about them. At that point I turned on my heel and walked out of the shop; SWMBO said she felt insulted by the clerk's attitude. O...

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5
I'd rank the twin blade Feather cartridge above the three blade in my week long head and face shave test. Having got to grips with the twin blade I think I understand why the triple has wires on it - it might be quite the vicious little bugger without them based on the wireless twin blade. The twin ...

Winding up our visit now; tomorrow we'll be winging our way home to Hog Town. Managed to get three days in central London before heading to the West Country to see the family and all. Whilst in London I did visit the three T's and several other shaving emporia, but my buying was restraint as I'd lo...

Re: Cartridge Razors - 5
Well the week long "head and face" test was a roaring success. Double duty for 7 days and day 7 was as good a shave as day 1. Not as close as the Fusion (head) or Bobgress (face), but definitely worthy, not too far behind, and top of the list for travel purposes. I have some of the two bla...
