My condolences as well. I often admired his work; but unfortunately never got around to purchasing a razor or handle.

I would, notwithstanding, agree with those who have endorsed Feathers.
I agree. Once my technique became good enough to use them they've been the best. Still, YMMV.

My condolences to her family and friends. As others have noted, Sue was a great friend of the wetshaving community. I fondly recall that hers were some of the first artisinal shaving products I tried. She will be missed.

Hi Ed - The Valobra Shave Sticks vary a bit in the intensity of their fragrance. I'm fine with it when it is muted. When I get a Valobra stick that is too fragrant, I unwrap it and leave it out in the garage until the fragrance dissipates. :) - Murray Thanks for jogging my memory. I used it this mo...

Ed, have you tried their sandalwood or lavender? I also am not a big fan of the lemon but I really like the other two. Steve, No I haven't. I'm not a fan of lavender and I react badly to sandalwood, so my AOS choices for soap are limited. :( I once suggested somewhere that I'd like to see an AOS sh...

While I prefer AOS (I haven't used the sandalwood), I think you should give MWF a try, unless you're sensitive to lanolin. My skin doesn't like Harris almond soap; I find both the scent and the way the lather feels on my face are unpleasant. I'd rather have the clay-y scent of AOS any day. I haven't...

Welcome to the forum, Irv. I haven't tried everything :) , but the mildest shaver I've used since returning to DE's about 2.75 years ago is the Gillette Tech. I haven't tried the Weishi, Krona, or Feather Popular. I know the Crystal/IP blades are highly regarded by many. I have a tough beard and use...

Can't say about the brush, having experience with only two varieties. As to the razor, my personal preference would be other than a smooth handle, given the slippery soap and water environment of wetshaving. Have had no experience with this brush. I have a DE 89L and quite like it. I was concerned ...
