Brilliant cause. This year I have shaved off my fantastically outrageous handlebar so that I don't steal the thunder of the 20 or so blokes at work (and on a UK-based shaving forum) who are participating in Movember. Once they have shaved theirs off on 1st December my normal face-furniture will be r...

Re: Boots stick

Hi gents. I received a Boots stick among other things from a friend in the UK. I like the scent of the Boots, but won't use the stick until tomorrow. Surely I can't be the first to use it. How'd you like it? It's not bad. A nice woody scent which matches the Boots "Freshwood" aftershave ....

The aftershave gel (Kanwa?) is a much better product to spend your hard-earned on.

It's expensive and has four more blades than hobby shavers would like but the Gillette Fusion ProGlide is simply the very best cartridge razor available.

The Hydro by Wilkinson Sword (Schick?) is a close second but only if you use their shaving gel ... something to do with the moisturising strip.

Have a listen to Professor Elemental and Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer.

Yes it's rap . . . but NOT as you know it.

VERY English, and very tongue-in-cheek. I'm sure some of you will love it.

I like the fact that it isn't as 'fussy' as other forums.

Just basic, simple.

Simple is good.

Floris Lavender ... For Gordon

I remember discussing Floris Lavender and that it was only available in the Highgrove range.

Well I got the Summer Sale catalogue today and saw Lavender in there so checked on-line and there it is.

The blue one?

Yes.

It is every bit as good as Speick and Valobra sticks.

More of a waxy soapy smell than the 'fatty' smell of Valobra or the 'spicyness' of Speick.

Is a mentor-in-law a mentor that you're related to by marriage, by any chance?

I have never applied the soap from a stick to my face.

Always ... stick to brush and then brush to face.

Oh, and Palmolive really is the best value shaving product in the entire history of shaving, by a country mile.

At less than $0.75 a stick it's a 'no-brainer' surely?

Generally, Premier League footballers are vacuous idiots motivated by money and status symbols and I'm glad I stopped being a walking wallet for them 20 years ago. Playing for your country should be the ultimate reward for any player but as there's no cash incentive, the international stage means le...

This isn't about a team being beaten by better squads - although that certainly is the case - to me it's about a system gone to the dogs. Club ball in England has become the focus, while national competitions have taken a back seat. I have followed England all over Europe and spent more money than ...
