MWF bath soap does the trick for me. But it is a bit expensive - $8 a bar. Same scent as the shave soap. Only problem is you can't find it in the stores.

I haven't found another soap with a cedar wood scent (though I am sure they are out there). fatcity - L'Occitane Cade shave soap (it's non tallow) has a strong cedar scent. It smells great. The performance is good, but not as refined as the DR Harris... Oh no, Andrew. Now I have another soap to add...

I'm having a Tabac lather issue as well. The cake is new. I never soak my soap, and flick most of the water out of my brush before loading. Problem is, when I reach for my brush to do a 2nd pass, the lather has disappeared. Never happened to me with Tabac before. I usually load the brush then face l...

Sorry to hear the Marlborough getting a bad rap. I enjoy it very much. I haven't found another soap with a cedar wood scent (though I am sure they are out there). However, I recently experienced a Marlborough mishap. Whilst vigorously loading my brush and straining to hear the radio, the bowl jumped...

Never seen the Rosebud ones. Burts Bess has a balm in the little metal disc. Don't know what flavors they offer, but their tube type flavors aren't too bad.

Some people prefer Armour, but I would recommend the Hebrew National. lol How about an Old English Sheep dog? Best tempered dog I have ever known. Of course, an old english could be categorized as a small horse rather than a dog. My old english thinks he is a lap dog, and appears blissfully unaware ...

Could they be "seconds" That was my thought as well. It makes little sense for the individual that sold them to you to tamper with them for nickels as you say. I would bet that these were rejects caught by quality control, and an employee took them home. Lo and behold, 40 years later they...

Am billing 50 hrs a week, and 11 hours of school on top of that.

I hear those NY boys are looking at $1250/hr.

So, where does absurdity enter the equation?

Take a wad of $2 bills.

TSA will be so enamored, your shave gear will pass no questions asked.

Plus, $2 bills look like $20's to generous lady friends (when in less than optimal lighting situations.).

lol, CK. I just read an article about ritalin being the drug most abused by students.

lol.

Good call Gordon - I didn't read the question fully.

On a regular basis - I clean my razor once a month (when changing blades) with either detergent, scrubbing bubbles, or soaking it in borax for a little bit. All three methods have worked quite well for me.

Best budget beer (if you can get it in your local) is Yuengling. Shiner beats out Lone Star (if you are in that neck of the woods), but Shiner has been selling at premium prices for the last three years. Canadian Club is my booze of choice - not bargain basement, but certainly not a budget buster. H...

Most of the gents around here prefer the Scrubbing Bubbles. And no wonder - it works quite well. I received a 56 Super Speed from my father that had been sitting in a cabinet for 40 some odd years - covered in grime. Used scrubbing bubbles for 3 rounds of cleaning (with a tooth brush) and it was pra...
