Tim,

I wear the stainless steel version of that watch (mine has the calendar function) and have for just about all of my adult life. It is an excellent watch and keeps great time. It’s classic, understated, and has great character. It has marked many of the important moments of my life.

Ivo, very nice hone. They are very good and put lasting edges on most any straight. Even these little ones work very nicely and are versatile with slightly warped blades.

Re: Mitchell's Wool Fat

Just looking on the redesigned Kent website. The scent of the Kent soap refill (Mitchell's) is listed as: "A fine fougere fragrance based around Patchouli, enhanced with extracts of Lavender, Pine and Clove on a spicy base of Nutmeg, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Musk" Would that be ...

I get particularly good shaves with Trumper's Limes, as it provides me with great cushion and lubricity. Yes, some people have reported that Limes creams dry out their skin but I don't share that experience. I've had no problems with the limes drying or irritating. It is possible that you are just h...

What does the smell of Clubman compare to? Lilac or lavendar base? Sam Sam, I can't say with certainty what the base is but it smells exactly like Clubman aftershave. The talc and the a/s can be found in most grocery stores, I know Acme up here sells them. Take a whiff next time your shopping. Chris

It's a subtle lime on top of the bay rum, which cuts the sweetness of the basic scent. I think it an improvement on the plain stuff. Insist on the Domenica version and in cologne strength, the Caribbean brand now at classicshaving is supposed to come from the same manufacturer but even my cat says ...

I believe that edt stands for eau de toilet. A less concentrated form of an eau de cologne. Warmest regards, Niksa The reverse is actually true (Gordon, correct me if I am wrong). Edt is the stronger. This is in fact a cologne not an Edt. Look at the box in the picture, it clearly says "Cologn...

I also wear this on occasion. It's good old fashioned stuff. I forget where I read it but supposedly it's making a bit of a comeback. It's so old it's new and young guys are wearing it to the delight of young ladies. Some young ladies have been overheard to ask what was the 'new' stuff a guy had on....

Tis true. Even for someone like me who doesn't really collect them. I should have known better than to purchase a straight that I was too afraid to use because of it’s historical value. I’d rather preserve it in a vacuumed container just to look at it but that doesn’t really do anyone any good as it...

Sam, no doubt the blue bar is tallow based I still have about 3 of them. I'll have to agree with Ren that the scent on these is pretty strong though I find the soap on a rope variety stronger and more pronounced. Perhaps the bar you received is a little off? The original bars of Musgo were pale flat...

Gordon,

Have you been to the area where Temple U is located?

Chris
North Broad Street. You might want to pack some heat.
Quite so! Rent a bullet proof car as well just to tour the area.

Todd, The Clubman stuff is good IMHO and as a testiment the Union League provides it for their members. Another great Bay Rum is Dominica, which as a straight up Bay Rum that is very different from the Pinaud and they have a Lime version that is excellent as well. The Premium Bay Rum is St. John's B...

Bay Rum in general is intended as a stand alone and it works well as such. Yes it can be fleeting but a lover will still notice it in the evening. If you were to use the Lime version a good compliment is Trumper's Limes Cologne as it will not clash. I usually do this and it works well and gets a thu...

Sam, that Musgo was good stuff, eh? And the blue bars were the "off" bars as far as scent goes but the lather was still top notch. Tis a shame as the bars are no longer tallow based. The soap on a rope is more pronounced and just as nice lathering and seems to be remaining tallow based. Ha...

It all boils down to preference. No one can tell you what you find to be the best for you. In general I find higher end products work well for me, better than their more economical counterparts but you can bet that if I find something cheap that works I’ll use it. With some things the jump in qualit...
