Re: Erasmic Sticks - Status

owenm wrote: The ones on sale in chemists near me seem to have gone back to a tallow formula. No idea whether this is old stock though.
Forgot to say - this tallow formulation in the shops now appears identical to the original black and red packaging of the stick, hence the comment about old stock.

Re: Erasmic Sticks - Status

Although I have become primarily a one soap man with Harris Lavender, I still enjoy Erasmic when traveling. I would argue these inexpensive sticks compare with the best of soaps. I appreciate the light masculine barbershop scent too. The last I read was Erasmic's new shaving stick formula was awful...

Dovo Perlex 5/8 SS BK4 Taylor's Lavender DR Harris Pink Woods of Windsor The last drops of my Pink today. Nice stuff but I don't find it superior to other aftershaves. If I was going for something premium, I'd give Coral Skin Food another go, I prefer the face feel afterwards. As it is though I'm go...

Paddy, Well, with hard soaps I would say that you use a combination. You at least start the lather building process on the soap cake. I do basically the same thing. With creams, yeah, apparently you're entirely a 'face latherer'. Regards, Gordon I do the same as Paddy for soaps and creams - but whe...

Re: Fougere vs. fern vs. chypre

The Wikipedia article on Perfum e is pretty good on what notes these different types of Fragrances have. ... apart from declaring: Fougère: Meaning Fern in French, built on a base of lavender, onion , coumarin and oakmoss. Houbigant's Fougère Royale pioneered the use of this base While the bad thin...

Re: Fougere vs. fern vs. chypre

Are these terms synonymous? It seems they are used to describe the same types of scent categories, i.e. Irisch Moos, Pen EF, GRT Wild Fern, etc. Do they have more specific meanings that differentiate a "fougere" from a "chypre", let's say? There are a number of different classif...

Re: Looking for cologne suggestions

For the last couple of years I've been mostly using the same four colognes. - Taylors Sandalwood - Trumpers Spanish Leather - English/Wild Fern - Taylors Victorian Lime Just wondering if there are any obvious ones missing from my rotation? Another winter and summer scent perhaps, maybe a floral? Ma...

I just got back from Greece on Friday, and I bought a cream called Prosar. It isn't great, but it isn't too bad either. Nothing I would really recommend. I posted a review of a tube of Prosar I bought on a trip to Corfu a couple of years ago. I seem to recall the shave was OK but the consistency wa...

They do - I have one of these for work - it's great, enough storage for one or two over night stops as well as the computer, notebooks, etc.

Have you looked in the trash folder? If they've been accidentally deleted they should be in there... http://mail.google.com/mail/#trash. If they're there, you should be able to move them to another folder.

FWIW, I use offlineimap to backup my gmail files to my computer (just in case).

hi all anyone used laser blades Wilkinson's .38 pence in the uk  I haven't, but apparently from those that have, they're terrible. Tesco blades are OK though. A wide selection are also available from connaughtshaving.com apparently but I use Tesco ones when I use a DE. I'm sure someone will ...

Mine lost about a hair per shave. Still lots of hair in it though. I replaced it with a Vulfix 2235 which is very similar (but doesn't shed). I bought the Vulfix from Diamond Edge Ltd.

I have medium hard water and get through about 25 ml per month (based on a sample of 3 or 4 tubes and tubs). So I'd expect a tub to last about 6 months. Soap's a different matter though.

The Fountain Pen Hospital place is great place to buy from, never have had a problem with them. What you could do if you did not want to invest much to test out if you like fountain pens is to buy a Lamy Al-Star or Safari. The main difference is the Al-Star is made of aluminum while the Safari is m...

Of the ones you showed, I would choose the Agio, but I like a slim pen. A Pilot Knight might be an option in the sort of price ra...
