Mike, If you troll through the archives you'll find a thread on pens from a few months ago. Another of our members bought the same pen I have, and liked it, too. If interested PM me...I'm pretty sure I have some messages with links to the vendor in France. I had the same pen, a blue marbled Phileas...

I've been straight shaving for nearly two years now. I've got to the stage where it takes me a couple of days to get back into the groove of DE shaving, during which I normally will get some irritation and the odd ingrown. I usually use the DE when travelling as it means less stuff to carry around. ...

Re: non brush creams and soap ???

hi all anyone on the forum use a non brush cream or soap . any recommendation's please . :D . King of Shaves oil works okay on its own; I've used it with a cartridge razor when flying and not checking in luggage. When travelling elsewhere though I use a Vulfix 2190 travel brush with a shave stick. ...

The only bit i dont get about your post is the part where you say to use short one inch strokes, wouldn't a long stroke just the once down my face be better? When using a fixed head razor, it's important to make sure that the angle between the blade and the face is the same, otherwise you may get i...

Re: A milder Proraso?

Gentlemen, I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a Eucalyptus & Menthol soap that is just a little milder than Proraso. Thank you all in advance, -Art Can't think of anything else with Eucalyptus but Valobra Menthol might be an option. Arko moist is a lightly mentholated cream th...

Went into the shop in Windsor today; apparently there will be a new mens line but the EdT is definitely discontinued. The refills they had in the shop were tallow, where the ones I bought a year ago are palm.

I use the site by iPhone all the time. I do not see the issue with the search not refreshing on going back. I have set it up with a bookmark to the search page (http://www.shavemyface.com/forum/search ... d=newposts) which works for me unless I go from phone to wifi connectivity.

Used Palmolive for years myself ,especially when using a straight where its thick lather really pays for itself . I've recently started using Wilkinson Sword sticks which smell divine and provide the same thicker than thick ,slicky lather AND THEY ARE BLUE !!! which for some reason makes me happy :...

I think it's perfectly adequate, good value for money, a pleasant floral smell but just nothing to rave about, if that makes sense?

Last time I was in there, John Lewis were selling Kent soap refills, which is rebranded MWF... some chemists do too. Might be a good idea to phone them, it's been a while for me. However, you're less likely to get it in a bowl. Online is probably best for that. Connaught Shaving have it for a reason...

I emailed Lornamead about it, they said it is only available from their shop in Windsor or by mail order. I'd get some from the Gentleman's Shop if you want to stave off the bitter end for a while.

Anyway, yes, I agree; he could try Habit Rouge, Equipage, and few others to get a sense of good French men's colognes today, but the kind of SMF consensus scent he says he's looking for doesn't exist I don't think May I submit that 'Monsieur de Givenchy' might fit the bill? I had tried it on the wa...

Thanks for that, Owen. I suspect that owner Lornamead have decided to shed the costs associated with a men's line. I wager that the redirected link on the WoW site is intentional. Also, the ShopLondon's site cleared its stock a while back, as they do with discontinued products. It's an outstanding ...

The Gentleman's Shop have it:

Still, it seems to be less and less available online - even the Woods of Windsor site has broken links to it at the moment... a great shame as it's one of my favourites.

I think that for $100 you should be able to buy a pen that will write as well as many higher end pens that have more cachet. Personally speaking I'd probably look at getting a Lamy Safari first as you can get replacement nibs very cheaply and it would allow you to try out what width you'd like first...

Fortunately here in the UK the tallow police don't seem to have caught up with hand soaps yet - a good proportion of our soaps (both artisan and cheapo high street) still contain tallow as the main ingredient - Cussons, Palmolive, and several supermarket own brands all have tallow in their "ma...

Re: Woods of Windsor - improved since buy-out?

Has anyone tried WoW soap lately? Last time I used it was prior to it being taken on by P&G/Lornamead/whoever owns it now, and I never thought it was that good, but I saw some on offer the other day, noticed it still had tallow as the top ingredient and thought I'd give it another go. Well, I t...
