Melyus is an excellent vendor with good prices. Shark blades are an outstanding value and imo better than derbys.

Tallow soaps clearly lasts longer than glycerine. Glycerince may also have better skin care properties though.

Wow! Thanks guys. While I have evolved towards creams, a tub of cella still remains. The thick cushioning lather failed to emerge so far. Its decent lather but not what is expected. Failed to achieve the close shave received from silvertip badger and creams. Probably select the Omega 49 since its we...

Thanks for the kind words Gary. I saw this post on the R&B board. Cella is a consistent, magnificent performer for me. The 10065 is a great brush. If you're going from a VDH you'll prefer the 49; if you're worried about wasting soap, get a stiffer badger. You won't get as dense a lather, it wil...

Rbaloha, I can't say Cella is fickle in my experience, but of course one person's patterns of usage and techniques are always going to be different than the next. But please don't take Zach's recommendation for an Omega 49 lightly. Perhaps he would be the one to address your questions about the 100...

Slightly going against the grain, nothing at all against boar brushes, but if you already have a badger brush, that will do quite nicely with the Cella. Unless you just want a boar brush, in which case the omegas 49 or 31064 are excellent recommendations. My silvertip does not do the job like cream...

Suggest trying the new reformulated Arko Lavender available thru Melyus.

Currently using with a slant. Produces excellent shaves comparable to higher priced creams. Good skincare as well.

Valobra, cella and provence sante seem really interesting. I forgot about those. How is the performance of glycerine soaps? I have always kind of ignored them An excellent glycerine soap is Em's. IMO a better performer than Cella. However the Cella easily lasts one year as opposed to Em's 2-3 month...

Re: Palmolive Rinfrescante Al Mentolo

Shaved with this cream using em's pre shave oil, merkur slant, new iridium super blade and $21 ebay silvertip badger. First, only a dab is required to quickly create a nice thick menthol cooling lather. Menthol effect is better than Noxzema. Blade glided over the skin creating a nice clean efficien...
