The long-handled adjustables yes. The regular-sized ,as appears in picture, 1972-76. Hell! Maybe they came out in '67. When it starts getting to these (partially plastic) ones I get confused. Gillette didn't cause any of that confusion at all either! Also, wanted to share this photo for Bob & al...

However, that black Super Speed didn't come out until the early 70s.

Harper thanks for your vivid memories...enjoyed reading them.

One Nixon quote concerning Harry -- "He was a tough little bastard!"

Just wanted to add... I have a bottle of the cologne that is about 5 years old now. It has the treemoss on the label only. Smells pleasant to me. I have some bath soap boxes that had (treemoss) listed, and yet some others (older?) that have oakmoss as a base note. I can't smell the difference with t...

Thanks Teiste! Much appreciated! Yeah, that's either Curzon or Wellington for certain! I changed it to Wellington as it's more of a brownish-red drum! I still have my eagle eye...yep!

What the production staff did was to get a bottle of Wellington after shave for that scene! I sure hope it was the after shave version! Note the badger hair quality in the window as he leaves the storefront! If only I could walk in there circa. 1991 and load-up on a few choice items I have in mind. ...

Here is a better picture of a neglected & scorned refill from 60+ years back. Then the high water mark in the 1960s pushing (with the help of Madison Ave.) the 'Rapid' shave cream(s) in a can they had invented. That's precisely why the shave soap became neglected & scorned with production mo...

Here is an ad from 1953 that shows Bristol-Myers is still the sole owner. You can see they had offices in London. So they must of introduced it into Gr. Britain in 1932 as the tube states. How long Lornamead has owned it is moot at this point. *To Everyone Else: Don't mind lanolite & myself...we...

When I first took-up DE shaving (seven years back) both the brushless & lather versions were still on the shelves here at my local CVS. I first used a Gillette T.V. 1958 razor ,along with the brushless Palmolive, in the white, black & green tube. I might not of owned a brush yet. I liked the...

Palmolive, as part of Colgate-Palmolive, is very much a U.S. company. Here's a historic shave brand tidbit: The "PO" shave soap; formulated in the same Midwest city, that Ingram's shave cream was also first formulated in! As to their creams: The 'Classic' version is made in Belgium. The 'S...

I always did like those B&B Kent handles and their loft. Just wish they didn't have the B&B print on them. Were classy looking pieces non the less! Also, that brush ,along with, vintage Simpson Tulips, Plisson brushes in EW, and Rooney in finest, just can't be left on top of pay phone boxes ...

Here is yet another for offer. They spent 3 years working on a suitable shave soap base. 30 people across the country helped them 'dial-in' the end product. I've heard good things of their bath soaps. Ron, you with me?

Time to check 'em.

Hi Gordon and all. I'm afraid not tallow from animal fat. Says simply: "Highest grade white vegetable tallow, pure cocoa butter, almond oil." They make shampoo that seems nice etc. ,so worth checking into them further. I only use for hand/pre-shave ,but it is a pleasant soap. Right now in ...

I use, and have a bit stored-up, of the Almond Cold Cream soap. I like to use it as my hand soap in the Autumn/Winter seasons. It has a terrific scent ,to me, and no heavy-dyed color as their other soaps. The talc is nice too, and I always thought it would've made a great shave soap, had they offere...

I can't help but notice the Shulton milk bottle below the mirror in picture. Recall ,too, Gary Young mentioning a couple shave brushes being made for two President's! They wouldn't have ordered them to use with Barbasol, Rise, Molle or an electric! Shaving is ,in the end, still a very intimate act e...
